The Diary Game||Date: 20-04-2024 ||A Day of Summer: Embracing Simple Happiness, Blessings, and Spreading Joy.

Assalamualaikum everyone,

I hope you are all well and safe amidst this scorching summer weather. Coping with the heat, I've made it a priority to stay hydrated, keeping plenty of water at hand. Today, as with every day, began with tending to motherly duties before moving forward with the day's agenda.

After waking up and freshening up, it was time to rouse my daughter. While she usually wakes up around 9-9:30, she lingered a bit longer that day. After getting her ready, we sat by the window to enjoy the greenery and the gentle breeze. Despite the heat, there was a sense of comfort in the air, offering a moment of relaxation.

Realizing I had no outdoor commitments for the day, I planned to spend a fruitful day at home, attending to household chores and spending quality time with my daughter. After breakfast, I tackled some housework, tidying up my room and tending to the garden. Some of my plants were struggling , so I pruned away dry leaves and ensured they were well-watered.

As I glanced out the window, I noticed the mango trees laden with green fruit. Craving some "Kacha am varta" for days, I seized the opportunity and sent for some mangoes. My daughter and I enjoyed picking mangoes together from the window, although the intense sun discouraged us from venturing outside.

Once we had gathered the mangoes, we set about making the varta. After chopping the mangoes finely, we added dry-fried red chili, salt, sugar, and a hint of milk powder, relishing the summer delight together. Despite my dislike for the extreme summer weather, I couldn't deny the blessings of summer fruits, especially mangoes.

After our soulful "Kacha aam varta session," we continued with our activities. Following a refreshing shower and prayer, we had a simple lunch of "Macher jhol" and "Derosh vaja." The mandatory summer afternoon nap followed suit.

Upon waking up, I found the late afternoon sun casting its warm glow on the playground below. Watching the children play evoked memories of my own carefree childhood. Time truly flies by, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of nostalgia and joy seeing the happy souls at play.

As evening approached , I embarked on a new mission: making the perfect pizza at home. Knowing my husband's love for pizza , I decided to try my hand at it. To my delight, I successfully completed the mission, baking a perfect pizza from scratch. From that moment on, I resolved never to buy pizza from outside again. My family's praise only added to the satisfaction, and we savored the homemade pizza together.

In a gesture of kindness, I decided to make another pizza for my brother, who was hospitalized due to a fever and cold exacerbated by the extreme weather. Visiting him, I hoped to bring him comfort and cheer during his time of solitude. The homemade pizza brought a smile to his face , and we spent time together , offering words of encouragement and assurance.

As I reflect on this simple summer day , I am reminded of the importance of cherishing life's little joys and spreading kindness wherever possible. Whether it is enjoying the simple pleasures of home or bringing comfort to a loved one in need , every moment holds the potential for warmth and connection amidst the summer heat.
