Have you ever seen upside-down coffee cups in Banda Aceh, and do you know how to drink the coffee inside? All these questions will be answered at Kuphi Khop. Kuphi Khop is an outdoor cafe because all of its rooms are open with no walls on any side. Kuphi Khop is known for its upside-down coffee, or khop in the Acehnese language. It is also unique in how it is drunk: first you blow on it, then you sip it. Kuphi Khop offers a variety of seating options, some with roofs and some without. The food and drinks served are also delicious and tasty. Khupi Khop is often used for office meetings or large family gatherings, and the contact number is 0813-7010-3535. Khupi Khop opens at 7:00 AM and closes at 11:59 PM.

The appearance of Khupi Khop is very elegant and charming. There are two sides to the building. The right side has a roofed area with seating, a cashier desk, and a bar serving drinks and food. This area is perfect for family gatherings, and I happened to be sitting on the right side with my wife. On the left side, there is a roof, but it is not spacious, only covering part of the area, while the rest is open. Usually, young people or college students sit on this side. At the back, there are also seats without a roof, with a stone floor. Visitors can simply choose to sit in whichever building they prefer.

Inside, Khupi Khop has a bright atmosphere combined with a village feel, as seen from the lampshades made of carved rattan. Each table has four chairs, and the tables, chairs, and floor are clean and free of trash. Outside, there are many trees, making it a great place to take photos.

Cashier and Beverage Bar

Khupi Khop provides a large quarter-circle shaped cashier desk. Visitors can pay for their food here with cash or non-cash payments. During the payment process, I was first shown a receipt to check the order list, then I paid immediately. In addition to the cashier desk, there is a beverage bar next to it that can mix and make a variety of delicious and tasty drinks.

Khupi Khop serves internationally renowned food in my area, namely pizza. The pizza is made on site in a large oven. Many visitors order pizza, but when I arrived, I didn't dare to order any because I was afraid it wouldn't suit my taste. The food and drink menu here is presented on paper. There are several food items such as fried rice, free-range chicken rice, fried duck, potatoes, and so on. There are also many beverage options such as khupi kop tower, regular coffee, chocolate, teh tarik, taro, red velvet, and many more.

Khupi Khop provides a prayer room for worship. The prayer room is equipped with prayer mats, prayer robes, and chairs for those who are unable to stand. The prayer room comes with a place for wudu, mirrors, and toilets. There are two toilets, one for men and one for women. The toilets were clean and had a strong water supply.

I went to Khupi Khop cafe to try their special drink, the Khupi Khop Tower. It is a tall glass of milk coffee, with the rim of the glass turned upside down and a pipette inserted between the rim and the base. To drink it, you blow air into the rim of the glass to make the liquid come out. Once the coffee is out and in the base, you then pull the coffee up with the straw. I also ordered mango juice, fried rice with egg, and village rice. The price for the Khupi Khop Tower coffee is Rp. 15,000 (12.26 Steem), mango juice Rp. 15,000 (12.26), fried rice with egg Rp. 20,000 (16.37 Steem), and village-style rice Rp. 18,000 (14.73 Steem).

Children's Playground

Khupi Khop is also very child-friendly, providing a children's play area. The children's play area has a slide, seesaw, climbing frame, and synthetic grass. As parents, we can relax and enjoy our meal knowing that our children can play safely.

Parking Area

The parking area at Khupi Khop is also quite spacious, enough to accommodate several cars but not a large number because the area is also crowded and small. There is space for about 6 cars in the area, with the rest having to be parked on the road. Parking fees for four-wheeled motor vehicles are Rp. 2000 (1.64 Steem) and Rp. 1000 (0.82 Steem) for two-wheeled vehicles. There are parking attendants on duty to watch over and monitor our vehicles.
