Plagiarism is when you copy something from somewhere and pretend to be the author of that content or anything.
In some cases it is considered as crime and it's completely illegal because you are just snatching the efforts of someone who worked really hard to provide the best content.
That content might be a result of countless days and night and with just a copy and paste function how you can just take all the appreciation and credits. Besides it's illegal it is also a very bad act and ethically not right.
Taking someone's else idea and pretending to be yours is also Plagiarism.

There are many type of Plagiarism but most important are
1) SELF PLAGIARSM
2) DIRECT PLAGIARSM
3) MOSAIC PLAGIARSM
4) SOURCE-BASED PLAGIARISM

SELF PLAGIARSM

As you can see that in this type there is a word "Self" which can easy tell us what this type is about. So in this type what happens when a person is keep posting his own content again and again and pretend to be new although he has provided that content before is known as SELF PLAGIARSM.

DIRECT PLAGIARSM

In this type of Plagiarism a person copy something from the main source and pretend to be its own work. As well as don't provide the proper citation to the original author and takes all the credits.
This type of plagiarism is known and DIRECT PLAGIARSM.

MOSAIC PLAGIARSM

When you copy someone's else idea or when you copy someone's else work and change synonyms instead to make it seem original content. This is known as MOSAIC PLAGIARSM.
Another name for this type is PATCHWORK PLAGIARISM.

SOURCE-BASED PLAGIARISM

In this type what person do is that instead of doing citation properly he do it in a wrong way. For instance that writer took work from two different places but give reference of just one. This type of plagiarism is known as SOURCE-BASED PLAGIARISM.

How to Avoid Plagiarism

Following are the things you can do to avoid plagiarism.

1. Write everything in your own words.
   
2. Provide proper reference if you have take some content from somewhere.
   
3. Say no to Copy Pasting.
   
4. Always check whether author have given the rights to use his/her work or not.
   
5. Use your own quotations.
   
6. Use your own ideas.
   
7. Take your time before writing but write at your own.
   
8. Types of plagiarism must be in your mind.
   
9. Always remember that it is ethically wrong.
