Steemit is a platform for users to write and post original content. This can be educative, entertaining, or informative and while earning from it. The community has programmed systems in place to see that the idea of an original post is not violated. Let's take a look at what content etiquette is all about:

CONTENT ETIQUETTE

Etiquette deals with prescribed rules to observe while carrying out certain things. Content etiquette on Steemit are rules to follow while creating your content. One of the functions of these rules is to maintain that the posts of users are original and that there is no plagiarism. What is plagiarism?

PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism is using someone else’s writings or work without giving them proper credit. In simple words, someone presents somebody else’s work as their own. Plagiarism involves using words, ideas from a source without giving a proper citation. When you do this it is considered plagiarism.

There is nothing wrong with using someone else’s thoughts in your work, but you have to give them their due credit or refer to the work you are inspired from. You have to understand that images licensed not for commercial purposes should not be used in the Steemit system because it is unlawful.

There are five traditional types of plagiarism

  2. Self-plagiarism: This means copying your own earlier work of a previous post of the same creator.

  4. Accidental plagiarism: This happens when someone intentionally includes the information without referring to the source of where was gotten.
  5. Hired plagiarism: This type of plagiarism also exist, Hired plagiarism or employed plagiarism is every other kind of pretty serious plagiarism in which someone supplies cash to someone else to put in writing articles for them or from time to time by their work and demonstrate them as their own.
