Why I joined Steemit
I got tired of WhatsApp and Telegram “online jobs” that always say “pay ₦5,000 first” or “send your ID”. I wanted a place where I can use my phone, my writing, and my real life to grow. Steemit felt honest.
3 Lessons from my first few days here:
1. Real beats perfect
I tried to write with “big English” at first. No one replied. When I posted about “life in Benue during farming season”, people commented. Newcomers, just be yourself.
2. Engagement is everything
If you post and vanish, nobody will see you. But if I comment on 10 other newbies’ posts daily, they come to my page too. We rise together here.
3. Guard your account
2 people already DM’d me: “Send your Steemit password, I’ll boost you.” Please don’t. Your Master Password + Posting Key are like your ATM PIN. If you give it, your account is gone.
