INTRODUCTION

Fellow steemisns!
It has been a wonderful experience to have come up to do my 3rd achievement task.

It is often said that if a journey has not gotten to its destination, then the journey is expected to continue.

Along this journey is the accomplishment of various tasks or requirements which are known as achievements in steemit.

My destination with Steemit is nowhere close now, so I keep going.

At this point, I'm here now to accomplish the 3rd requirement known as content etiquette as my achievement 03.

Let's go!
Steemians, How do you feel when you are referred to as author? I hope that you will feel a great deal of joy? Yes! That joy comes from the fact that you are the original owner of that content.

What makes the content original? The content is original because the ideas, language, thoughts, expressions, write-ups or wordings, and objects, or images used in the content, is an authentic content created by you. This means that the content is not plagiarized.

With the little time I have spent on Steemit, I have come to further gain a more strengthened understanding of plagiarism.

Plagiarism is the act of preparing and presenting content work using someone's articulations, opinions, ideas, or vocabulary knowingly or unknowingly, as your work with or without the permission or authorization of the main owner of the content work.

There are various types of plagiarism. They include:

• Global plagiarism
• self-plagiarism
• patchwork plagiarism and
• paraphrasing plagiarism

• Global plagiarism
  In this type of plagiarism, a person hijacks all ideas, articulations, vocabulary, expressions, or thoughts of other persons and forms it as his/her content work, and then gives credence to themselves.

• Self -plagiarism

This type of plagiarism has to do with a person constantly using their previous ideas, language, thoughts, images, or texts to create their current content. This is to say that they are copying themselves.

• Patchwork plagiarism

In the course of creating content, a person might attempt to use content resources such as texts, ideas, images, thoughts, or expressions from other sources and rearrange them but not acknowledge or pay credence to the main owner of the content resources. This is known as patchwork plagiarism. While creating content in Steemit, it is necessary to cite sources you made use of while creating such content.

• paraphrasing plagiarism:

With this type of plagiarism, the imitator wipes off parts of the sentences made by the main owner of the content yet, the meaning of the sentence is the same. In the end, the imitator sees it as their work.

SOLUTIONS TO GUARD AGAINST PLAGIARISM

• Content writing requires critical thinking. Understand what you want to write about before you write.

• Ensure to apply a plagiarism checker to avoid plagiarizing your work.

• Every content that doesn't originate from you should have references.

• Steemit is a social media blockchain that does not allow plagiarized content. So Ensure that your content has not been unveiled, seen, or even heard of, before you share or post it on Steemit.

• If there is preferred content in your work, properly highlight the origin or source of the referred work.

Steemit is a high-quality content repository social media blockchain for content creators.

Content creators on Steemit should avoid posting or sharing plagiarized content. This will increase the value, in terms of the content quality, reliability, and rewards it will generate for Steemians. It will also position #steemit as an attractive social media content hub for content creators.
