Achievement 2: Understanding steemit security system

Hello steemians, I welcome you to my blog post once again. It has been a while here, and thank @bright-obias for always encouraging me to keep writing here. I want to proceed to my achievement 2 task of security.

Q1: Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?

Yes all my keys way downloded in a PDF format the on the first day I created my steemit account. I also understand the fact that if these key get compromised my account will be exposed and it will actualy lead to loss of assets.

Q2: Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

Yes. to the best of my knowledge the steemit platform has four different keys with different use-case. Let me explain each of these keys and their functions below.

• Master key: This key is one the keys that would be given to you on signing up on the platform, it is very impotant because, it can access a lost account and also has access to restoring other keys like the owner key.

• Owner Key: This key is the second in command after the master key. It is used to change other keys, just like the master key that can be used to recover accounts, owner key can be used to change keys.

• Active Key: Third in command, this key is only used for monetary transactions like transferring steem from one account to another. It is meant to kept safe because if it gets to an untrusted third-party, your asset can be stolen.

• Posting key: This key is used to access the blogging platform. It is used to perform acrtivitied like voting, posting, resteeming. It is less important because if stolen your asset will still be intact.

• Memo Key: Another less important key. It is only used for encrypting and decrypting messages on the platform.

Q3: How do you plan to keep your master password?

Master password is the most important of all the keys, it is meant to be store offline. The day I was registered to the plafrom, I stored my master key offline by printing it out on a laminated paper.

Q4: Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes, let me take you on screenshot of how to transfer steem token to another steem account. It is very easy to do, you go to wallet and click on the asset you want to transfer, you click on it, it will display a drop down menu where you will click on transfer and add the receiver's name and the amount of steem you're transferring out.

Q5: Do you know how to power up your STEEM?

Yes. Powring up is still a process that is beeen done in your wallet. In your wallet you will click on the steem button, a drop down menu will show up, you look for power up ansd click on it. Examples are on the screenshot.

on the second screenshot you will fill the space witht the amount of steem you want to power up, after filling it the power will then become clickable so you can proceed with your powering up. Thank you for your time on my achievement 2 post.
