Something Unexpected Happened - That Reminded Me How Success Works

Today, I wasn’t planning to return to Steemit at all.

I was working on my website of my Yoga School
and checking performance data in SEMrush when I noticed something unexpected - a backlink coming from Steemit. That immediately caught my attention. Curious, I clicked on the link, and it opened a post I had written almost eight years ago. I had completely forgotten about it, yet it was still there, indexed, and connected to my website after all these years.

That moment pushed me to try logging into my old Steemit account.

The first attempt failed. The password was wrong. I tried again, thinking I might be making a small mistake, but the result was the same. There was no clear or simple option to reset the password either. At that point, I thought it would be easier to create a new account, especially since my intention was only to write occasionally.

I tried signing up for a new account, but that didn’t go smoothly either. Steemit required a verification code to be sent to my email address. I requested the code multiple times, checked my inbox, spam folder, and promotions tab, but nothing arrived. Each attempt ended in silence.

That was the moment when frustration set in. I had already spent more time than I intended, and it felt pointless to continue. I was ready to close the tab and move on.

Before quitting, I decided to make one final attempt. I opened one of my oldest email accounts - an address I rarely use now and searched for anything related to Steemit. After scrolling through old messages, I found something I didn’t expect to see: my saved Steemit password key from years ago.

I copied the key, returned to the login page, and tried again.

This time, it worked hurrayyy!!!!!

After eight years, I was logged back into my original Steemit account.

There was no excitement or celebration. Just a quiet sense of relief. I wasn’t coming back with a plan to post every day or chase rewards. I simply wanted the option to write again, without pressure or expectations. Writing has always been a part of my journey, whether through websites, content projects, or personal reflection, and Steemit happened to be one of the places where that journey once paused.

This post is not meant to be a comeback announcement. It is simply a record of persistence of trying one more time when quitting felt easier.

“Success is not about never failing. It is about failing, trying again, and refusing to stop. Most people give up one step before things work.”

Today reminded me of that.
