ACHIEVEMENT 2 @harrygwec TASK: BASIC SECURITY ON STEEM

Good day great steemians.

I'm so delighted to finally write my Achievement 2 post.

I did my Achievement some time last year and couldn't do my Achievements and fully participate due to some issues, which is resolved now though. I thank God I can continue this Steemit journey.

So i am saying thank you to everyone who voted and commented in my previous Achievement.

Special regards to @focusnow, @talktofaith, @ngoenyi and @ruthjoe for the encouragement and always looking out for me. And a big thank you to @cryptokannon @kiwiscanfly for the post, it was indeed helpful.

HERE IS MY POST BELOW

Security, to the best of my knowledge means to protect, keep safe. It is the activities involved or measures taken in protecting something, it could be a person, city against attack or danger.

Basic Security On Steem:
This helps us be on a safe side, be at alert and help us not to be ignorant of certain important things in our Steemit journey.

Have you retrieved all your Keys on Steemit?

Yes! The moment I completed my registration was when I retrieved all my keys on Steemit.

Do you know each of the keys functions and restrictions?

Yes I do, we've got our;

▪️ MASTER PASSWORD
Just as the name implies, it is used to generate other keys/passwords or recovery of keys.

This key has to be really secured because it is a powerful key that if gained access to by another person, it can cost one a huge loss, loss of ones account, including money.

▪️ OWNER KEY
This key is meant to be stored offline and only used to recover a compromised account as it is seen as the most powerful key.

A key that can change any key of an account, including the owner's key.

▪️ POSTING KEY
When the word "Posting" is mentioned what comes to mind is "Content".

This key is used for our everyday logins on Steemit site, it can also be used for posting of contents, voting, resteeming, commenting, editing, follow, deleting, account muting.
To avoid a compromised account it's rate at which it is used should be limited.

▪️ ACTIVE KEY
The task this is used for is a very sensitive one which has to do with transferring of funds to other accounts, to convert Steem Dollars, for Powering-Up and Power-down, placing a market order, for profile updates and witness voting.

▪️ MEMO KEY
This key is used to see an encrypted messages sent privately not only that but also used to send an encrypted messages.

How do you plan to keep your Master password?

Having known the importance of this key, I store it in my email, my hard drive and it was pen down in my diary.

Do you know how to transfer your Steem token to another Steem account?

Yes I do. All you need do is go to "Wallet", check on the drop down menu on Steem and a page like this below will appear

On that drop down, click on "Transfer", and after which a page where the name of the recipient would be seen, take a look at the example below

Afterwards, click on "Next" there you finalize the transaction.

Do you know how to Power-up your Steem?
Yes! Just like we did when transferring in the drop down menu, there you will see a "Power-up" option, check to see the example or image below

What you do here is this;
▪️Click on Power-up
▪️Input the number of Steem you wish to Power-up. Check below to see the image below

Afterwards clickbon "Power-up" and here you finish up or finalize with your Active key.
