Achievement2: Basic security by @his-grace
Hello steemians...
Having done my introductory post ,Which has led me to the second achievement post on basic security.
The level of security at steemit.com is very high. The use of various key for various purposes is highly security wise. By answering below questions shows my basic understanding of the security functions.
#QUESTION1: have you obtained and saved all your steemit passwords?
Yes i have obtained and saved all my steemit passwords securedly in my google drive account, also printed the hardcopy and stored it secretely in my file box .
#QUESTION2: do you know all the functions and restrictions of the keys?
Yes, i know the functions of all the keys after reading the instructions of of the use of the keys.
The functions of the keys are ...
Active key : is the key to login into the wallet to unable us perform wallet transactions, like convertion of steems to dollars .
posting key : this is the key which we use as password to login into our accounts and used for commenting and voting
private owners key : this serves as a linking key which we can use to recover other keys when we misplace them .
memo key : is the key that enables comments to decrpted on steem transfer.
master key : is the key just as the name implies, it serves as a root key or starter key .
#Question3 :how do you plan to keep your master key safe?
I have saved and preserved it in my google doc account and also the printed hardcopy saved in private file box.
#QUESTION4 : do you know how to transfer steem token to other steem users?
Yes, i know how to transfer my steem token to other steem users .
The steps to transfer this steem token to another are illustrated below...
STEP 1
login to your steemit wallet
Step 2
Click on your balance and wait for a pop-up drop down menu and click on tranfer
On the next page enter the amount and username of the person you wish to transfer steem token to ,click next and confirm your transaction by entering your active key
#QUESTION5 : do you know how to perform the power up process in steem?
Yes i know how to pwer up steem
From the displayed menu
Click power up button
And finally enter amount to convert to steem power and proceed .
