Achievement 3 : Content Etiquette | By @jahidhassanmt
Hello Steemit Community,
After completing Achievement 1 and 2, I am now here to share my understanding of Achievement 3, which is about Content Etiquette and the importance of avoiding Plagiarism.
As a Medical Technologist, I deal with scientific data every day. In science, accuracy and original reporting are vital. Similarly, on Steemit, creating original content is the key to building trust and integrity.
What is Plagiarism?
Plagiarism means taking someone else's work, ideas, or words and presenting them as your own without giving proper credit to the original creator. On Steemit, this is considered a serious violation.
Types of Plagiarism:
Direct Copy-Paste: Copying text from websites (like Wikipedia) or other users.
Paraphrasing Plagiarism: Changing a few words but keeping the same structure and idea without citation.
Image Theft: Using photos from the internet without providing the source link.
Self-Plagiarism: Reusing your own old content multiple times.
How to Avoid Plagiarism?
Create Original Content: Always write in your own words based on your knowledge and experience.
Cite Sources: If I use a medical definition or a quote from a book, I must mention the author or the website link.
Use Royalty-Free Images: Use your own photos (like I do in my lab) or use sites like Pexels/Pixabay with proper credit.
My Commitment:
"I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them."
Conclusion:
I am committed to sharing my professional knowledge as a Medical Technologist through my own original writing. Let's keep Steemit a clean and creative platform for everyone.
Thank you!
