Hello Fellow steemians
I do like it a lot when I get my self in something doing on this community expercially trying to meet achievements of this sort it’s broadens a person knowledge on this platform.
What do you think Plagiarism is.??
Plagarism in my understanding is the act of making use of someone’s work without his or her permission.People all over the world does this and many which are as the result of ignorance, thus they don’t know what plagiarism is or what it covers and they think it only about making use of someone’s images only without their concern but it covers text and quotes too so be informed.
A PLAGIARIST
Who is a plagiarist.??
A plagiarist is a person who makes use of another man’s work without permission and acknowledgment.
Here are some examples of Plagiarism.;
- Complete Plagiarism
- Direct Plagiarism
- Auto plagiarism (self)
- Accidental plagiarism
- Paraphrasing Plagiarism
- Inaccurate authorship
- Mosaic plagiarism
•Complete Plagiarism
This is when a plagiarist takes the work completely (everything) from its source and presents it as his or hers. This is very bad though.
•Direct Plagiarism
This is when an author makes use of another others craft word to word without citation
•Auto Plagiarism(self)
This is when an author makes use of his already published work one more time trying to make it look new.
Examples are re-posting:
sentences, paragraphs, images or essays.
•Accidental plagiarism
In this case the author doesn’t have a greedy mind but it’s termed plagiarism because he forgets to cite a source or gives out a wrong quote to the sources that he has copied.
•Paraphrasing Plagiarism
This is when an author pick different words to have the information derived from the original source.
•Inaccurate Authorship
This usually occurs when a writer does not provide the needed information to where he found his work,be it that he forgot or fails.
•Mosaic Plagiarism
This particular one is done by picking different ideas from different sources and usually difficult to identify.
This are some of the Causes Of Plagiarism.
1.procrastination
Most people use time meant for a particular work for another and keeps postponing it until they have little or no time to organise their work no more then they go to copy the work of others thinking of being at a safer side.
2.Fear To Fail
A lot of people have little or no confidence over their own work and intends stealing rather than doing their best.
There are many other causes but I just had to limit my self to these two.
Just as there are cause there are also ways to avoid Plagiarism.
These are;
- To avoid procrastination
- To always remember to cite the sources of any contents used.
- To have faith and believe in your own self
1.Avoid procrastination
To put a stop to this, one must learn to be time conscious as to doing what at what time and doing it effectively.
2.To always remember to cite the sources of any contents used.
Always make sure you acknowledge the source at to which your work is derived.
3.To have faith and believe in your own self
When using someone’s work, one must learn to add the person’s ;
first name or last name, you can also decide to use the source of journal and other useful information.
