Good day to all steemians! I’m here again to submit my #achievement3 which has to do with plagiarism, below is the systematic order of the required task as far as achievement3 is concerned:

What is Plagiarism?
In my understanding about Plagiarism; is the fact that making a copy of an author’s idea or work and representing it as your own without full acknowledgment of the rightful author, these include both published and unpublished material work.

The various types of plagiarism
Plagiarism has different types, these include;

  • [x] Direct plagiarism ; this is a type of plagiarism where the writer copy the original author’s work ditto - ditto, though the writer might try to change sentence but still using the original author’s ideas and knowledge.
  • [x] Inaccurate authorship plagiarism ; in this type of plagiarism, the writer makes a contribution to particular platform or group but the rightful owner or author doesn’t give the writer any credit. The writer can as well get credit on that paper work presented onto the group but he did not make any contribution on its ideas and knowledge of coming up with the original author.
  • [x] Paraphrasing plagiarism ; in this type of plagiarism, the writer will rephrase the work of the original author, thus, writing key points of the original copy from the original author.
  • [x] Mosaic plagiarism ; this type of plagiarism has to do with directly copying the author’s work and rephrasing it to create a new work but majority of the original author’s ideas will be part of the writer’s new work.
  • [x] Accidental plagiarism ; this type of plagiarism occurs when an author accidentally copied another author’s work unintentionally.

Causes of plagiarism
Some causes of plagiarism include;

  • The fear of failure; a lot of people feel that they might fail in what they are trying to come up with and in such thoughts will end up going into plagiarism.
  • Inadequate time management; a lot of people do plagiarism because they don’t have good time management, thus, how they can manage their time to come up with a unique ideas and knowledge.
  • Laziness; other people most especially do plagiarism because they are lazy, they don’t want to work hard on what they want to come up with and so definitely will go in the direction of plagiarism.

Measures taken to avoid plagiarism
There measures that can be taken to avoid plagiarism, few measures include;

  1. Always make sure to be 100% sure about your work before publishing, to also make sure that your work is unique and not copied.
  2. Take assignments and work seriously, so you can get off laziness and work really so hard on your own ideas and knowledge.
  3. Always quote that you made a duplicate of a particular work from this original author to create his or her awareness.
