Hello Steemians, Hope you having an awesome day today? Please stay with me while I complete my achievement 3 post on the crime of plagiarism and I will be giving a detailed post on the topic... The offense of plagiarism is a very grave offence in every sphere of life steemit inclusive.

Every user in steemit is expected to always always produce a content free from plagiarism in other words, every post a steemian makes must at least be a proof of Brain. Howbeit, when a user wants insert an image not belonging to him, here or she is expected to source the image using the website from which he got the image from, this is also applicable while making another Author's post. Every user is expected to acknowledge the effort of another author when making reference to the product of his intellect.

Plagiarism is not inevitable as users are advised to be delibrate about the kind of contents they create and in that view, I will be outlining the various ways to avoid plagiarism in steemit.

Plagiarism is an offence that can be avoided in multiple ways as these:

  • By acknowledging the original author via text curation and reference list.
  • By sourcing an image.
  • you can about plagiarism by using plagiarism checker tool before making a post on steemit.


Types of plagiarism



  • Mosaic plagiarism
  • Self plagiarism
  • Accidental plagiarism
  • Direct plagiarism.

Mosaic plagiarism
This occurs when a writer lifts the idea and thoughts of another author without changing the meaning but with Different words. This is another form of academic dishonesty.

Self plagiarism
This kind of plagiarism is usually seen in the academic section. And this happens when a student duplicates his or her work and serves the same work to different lecturers.

Accidental plagiarism
This usually happens when an author misquotes the source of another author.

Direct plagiarism
This happens when an author clone another author's work word to word without citing.



Effects of plagiarism


  1. It discourages sloppy research
  2. It destroys professional reputation.
  3. It attracts monetary fine.
