Hello,
Wow, Steemit is a great platform, a community that however encourages us in creating, being creative in sharing original, organised comprehensive content. This enables for easy detection of non original or plagiarised content or post.

Here, we will be discussing about plagiarism, it's definition, types, and how to avoid plagiarism.

PLAGIARISM:
Is an act of using one's work, concept, thought, ideas without acknowledging or without concent. It's an unethical act that can put writers, researchers into sanction.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

DIRECT PLAGIARISM
It is also known as "word for word" or "copy and paste". It means copying one's script or piece of work, the same way someone else present it and claim it as yours.

SELF PLAGIARISM:
Using an already previous work of yours to source your current assignment or project can be comsidered plagiarism. For example, a writer recopying his old project instead of rewriting a new one.

MOSIAC OR PATCHWORK PLAGIARISM:
It is a complicated form of plagiarism that is sometimes hard to detect because, it involves "patchwork" or "patch writing". This form of plagiarism occurs when a person copies words from a source or site without the use of quotation or without citing the source.

ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM:
Is a form of plagiarism also know as "unintentional plagiarism. Is the accidental appropriation of the ideas and materials of others due to a lack of understanding of the conventions of citation and documentation.[source]

CITATION
Is the way you tell a person or student reading your project or work that an information from your project is gotten from another source.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM
• Always give praises to the author of the original content.
• Cite your sources and you can add your own ideas.
• Commitment
• Use of plagiarism checker
• Always make a good and intensive research about your project or work.
