PLAGIARISM PLAGIARISM PLAGIARISM!!!
Plagiarism has become one of the most violations that has been totally given a Red Card to on #Steemit. In my post we are going to be looking at what plagiarism is all about and why it's really such a bad pactice on steemit. I'm here to raise awareness and the dangers pertaining from plagiarism when discovered.

Plagiarism is being defined by many dictionaries and by different authors in many different ways but finally just have thesame meaning. A simple defination of plagiarism is that,it is the representation of another author's language or writer's work ,thoughts, ideas or expressions as one's original work. There many types of plagiarism that I have found based on my research, #plagiarism is not only bad on steem but it's #offensive even to the state as a whole.

11.PNG

Direct plagiarism Is the word - for - word transcription of a section of someone else's work without attribution and without #quotation marks . I find this time of plagiarism common in the steemit platform , I believe that #steemcurators ,#Admins and other country representatives perharps just allow song #newbies when they plagiarise just because they are expecting them to do Achievement task to have a better understanding, this plagiarism is really bad as you copy word for word without recognition of author

13.PNG

Self plagiarism happens when the author has added research on a previously published article book ,contributed chapter ,journal and presents it as a new work without acknowledging the first article or taking permission from the previous publisher . Submission of thesame article to multiple journels to increase the chances of publication or making multiple articles from a single article .

15.PNG

Mosaic Plagiarism happens when a new author uses the previous article text replacing, reordering, or rephrasing the words or sentences to give it a new look without acknowledging the original author

10.PNG

Intentional or unintentional plagiarism occurs when the author deliberately, intentionally or knowingly copies an entire text, paragraph or data and presents it as his own. Unintentional occurs when the author either is not aware of such research ,is unaware of the ethics of in writing or doesn't know how to cite and thus present similar articles, even though that can rarely happen but it can.. however all steemians should watch their back because plagiarism is a very bad violation of the steemit rules.@cryptokannon also raises awareness towards the dangers of plagiarism. @steemcurator1 and many others such as @saxopedia and @fombae who mentor Cameroonian steemians in #steem-cameroon and guide them to totally abstain from plagiarism.

There are of course ways that we can avoid plagiarism in steemit to atleast be on the save side

  • One of the first thing is always #Cite your source if you use any borrowed idea, image or language that is not yours
  • Also include quotations in any borrowed work
-Make sure that you paraphrase too
  • An important hit that you can give plagiarism on the face is to mostly and if possible always present your own idea, your own thoughts, your own expressions, your own language and everything from yourself, that's how to escape plagiarism..
  • A very rare way to avoid plagiarism is to use plagiarism #checker. Of course I know most people don't use it but they are bots not that you can use to automatically detect plagiarized work .

@Djleo 5years Ago ran for contest on #steemit which was targeted on who was going to be the most creative in terms of programming a bot that can detect plagiarized work on steemit . Eventhough his entry was late and he lost the prize,he still presented his work.

He didn't believe that he could bypass all his competitors on making a bot that was accurate. Reading Through his post on @steemit I found out that plagiarized work on steem is always and can be detected. Don't be a victim. @Djleo quotes "Bot scans (and displays in the console ) newly created post and searches @bunix's yacy index for 4 random exact phrases of chunk words " @Djleo believes that he is not a programmer but he programmed a really nice bot.. again he quotes "if a search hit comes up and the author is different, the full content of the posts are compared (minus some formatting ). If the match is at at least 50% then a comment is made linking to the article and showing the percentage of the March" end of quote . Such bots can detect plagiarized work. Stay away from plagiarism!!!
Your account might be muted or freezer if you are fished out for doing plagiarism and that will be the end of your account. I hope my post was able enough to raise awareness on young and growing steemians . We all have the power to make it on our own ... Just Believe In Yourself .
STOP PLAGIARISM

This article is not ordinary @rexiano. You must have burnt the midnight candle to do this research and write up. I continue to put my thumbs up to @steemit and @steemcameroon in particular for bringing this crypto initiative to us. It is gradually developing in cameroonians a spirit of reading and writing.

Its going to bring out a hidden talents in content presentation. A piece like this one my friend has put up is so powerful and should not just end here. @rexiano apart from posting here on steem, please share it out there.

There is so much to learn from it.

Me as a new steemian can now know how bad plagiarism is in steemit and i wont risk my account at all.. i too say #NO #TO #PLAGIARISM.
