Title: Achievement 2: Learning the Keys to My Steem Security - By @techstudent
Hello Steemians!
I am very happy to share that my Achievement 1 was verified by @ecoer, and I’ve received so much support from the community. As a student of Public Relations and Advertising, I know that having a great profile is only half the battle; the other half is keeping it safe. Today, I want to talk about how I am protecting my Steemit account.
My Keys are Safe!
The first thing I did after joining was to download my PDF file containing all the keys. I didn't just leave it in my phone's downloads folder. I have saved it in an offline drive and also wrote down the most important ones in my private notebook. Safety first!
Understanding My Security Tools
During my study of the Steem wallet, I learned that each key has a specific job:
Posting Key: This is my "everyday" key. I use it to log in, share my stories, and upvote the amazing content I see from you all.
Active Key: I treat this one like my bank PIN. I only use it for wallet actions, like if I want to transfer tokens or perform a "Power Up" to grow my account.
Owner Key: This is the master key. It stays locked away because it’s the only way to recover my account if something goes wrong.
Memo Key: I'll use this if I ever need to read private messages sent on the blockchain.
👇🏻Here is a screenshot of my wallet permissions page where I studied these functions:

Power Up and Transfers
I have also learned how to move my funds. If I want to send STEEM to a friend, I just need their username and my Active Key. More importantly, I've learned about Power Up. I want to turn my STEEM into Steem Power (SP) because I want my account to have more "muscle" and influence in the community.
Conclusion
Thank you for reading! I am now ready to explore more and create more digital stories here. See you in my next post!
