Good day everyone,
I’ll be talking about the security on steemit.
When I joined steemit initially, I said to myself all the keys weren’t necessary after all it’s just keys and therefore not needed, and then just a normal password will do. But guess what? After a while I discovered that steemit is way more complex than other platforms. The security on this platform is very good and secured.
Now, let’s go to the various keys and their function.

KEYS IN STEEMIT

1. MEMO KEY: this key is used for encryption and decryption of memos during fund transfers.
2. PRIVATE OWNER'S KEY: This key is a key used mainly for recovery, in the case whereby the owner of the accounts need to change his/her key or probably someone is trying to compromise their account, it plays a very important role, it can be used to recover the account and change the key.
3. PRIVATE POSTING KEY: this is a key that is very important containing nearly 50 characters. You will use this key to login into your profile and make your daily posts including gaining access to your steemit wallet. It also allows you to vote and comment on posts.
4. PRIVATE MASTER PASSWORD: This key is also a very important key, and this key helps a steemit user to generate other keys and then this key should be saved and kept well, and in case of hackers the key will play a very important role to enable you have control of your account.
5. PRIVATE ACTIVE KEY: This key is very essential in carrying out wallet transactions, take for instance the power up and power down transactions conversion of SBD( steem dollars), placing of market orders.

Steemit also provides tron keys and other public keys that could be given out. But the private keys mentioned and discussed above should not be given out to third parties and must be kept save and sound. The private keys can be saved on your mails, iCloud, or your phone but it’s best kept offline.

Let’s now discuss on steemit wallet and its features. The picture below shows how the steemit wallet looks like, and can only be accessed when you’re logged in.

Now you know how the wallet looks like, let us talk about how to carry out transfers. Example
Transferring steem into another steem wallet or should In case you want to withdraw funds.

TRANSFERING STEEM TO A STEEM WALLET

STEP1: click on that place circled on blue [like mine is currently at 0.000 steem]

STEP2: select Transfer and an interface would show up, as shown in the diagram below

STEP3: make sure you fill in the boxes adequately and carefully to avoid making mistakes or sending it to a wrong account , and click on Next, this should take you to a "transfer successful" page.

If you want to transfer the steem into your Binance , you type "deepcrypto8" as the person you’re transferring your steem to, then the amount you want to transfer and the memo should contain your Binance wallet.
