IN MY CHEERFUL QUARANTINE

in OCD4 years ago (edited)

The atmosphere is getting seriously pandemic in my sleepy hometown. The school is closed, Kindergartens too ... some Swiss athletes that arrived last evening in the biggest Hotel in town, are on their way back home ... the usually almost empty streets are completely empty now. There is a majestic cinematic feel in all this ... a bit like a Zombie apocalypse without the zombies ...

... and I'm here in my cat filled den ... drinking the appropriately named beer in good company of Sivka, the gray cat on the picture.

I bought a few bottles of Corona beer in the Supermarket yesterday, and now this drink is a great help to get me in the right mood for writing the post. I never tried Corona before, and now that I did, I can write a short review - this beer is ok, not bad - but not particularly good either :) however ... this is the best beer for this kind of post. Sounds a bit like some homeopathic cure ... take Corona to get rid of Corona.
And that's enough about beer ... now I want to show you some slices of life from my cozy quarantine.

This is an early morning photograph. It's still gloomy outside, the day has just begun. At this hour I usually drink coffee and eat a piece of chocolate or something similar ... but sometimes, like this morning, I feel the urge to eat something cooked and more substantial. So I fried a bit of fish. Spiny dogfish. A small shark species. Sharks, stingrays and Marbled electric rays are my favorite sea food. They have strong and specific aroma ... something between salty and sour with a bit of sweetness ... I adore that taste. Especially when fried. My friend Farabuto, the cat on the picture likes that stuff too ... so we did the breakfast together. He is the only early riser aside from me in this place. The heavenly perfume of the fried fish wasn't enough good to wake up the rest of the furry bunch.

Some time later, with the sun high in the sky but invisible under the layer of gray clouds, I went outside ... and the panorama was pretty desolate.
(Enlargeable)
Two cool cats, Veveritza ( on the left) and Palcich ( on the right) were posing like two little lions, each one in charge of one type of garbage can, Palcich for paper stuff and Veveritza had the general, mixed garbage under her control.

The cat called Tzvrtzak ( which means cricket, she sounds like a cricket when she purrs) was sleeping on some large and heavy, completely rusted metal piece. She was barely visible there - a great example of industrial camouflage!
I started to trim the laurel trees that grow and spread very fast, especially in this not very cold and humid days before the spring. I made a big green pile of those perfumed branches ...

... and my old, little dog called Bepina ... made this her home :) She was absolutely adorable, sitting there wreathed with laurel like some funny little Roman emperor.

Back in the house, I found a plastic bowl filled with some furry food, that wasn't in the kitchen before.
IMG_4517 malo.jpg
Then the thing moved ... and I saw two black ears ... looked a bit like Mickey Mouse.
IMG_4507 malo.jpg
But when the creature stood up, it was clear that is a cat - Malatz, another little feline rascal, that resides in this house with me.
IMG_4511 malo.jpg
He just said " Hi, what's up?" telepathically ...
IMG_4512 malo.jpg
... and before I could answer ( I'm still slow in telepathic communication) Malatz resumed his nap.

In the storage room, that once was some kind of sleeping room for guests, the cat called Miles was eating some crunchy cat food directly from the package.
P1920323 malo.jpg
There was cat food in the appropriate lunch container, of course ... but he likes it more this way ... with the had in the bag.
P1920529 samo malo.jpg
In the other sector of the same room, Veveritza has made a hole in the dog food sack and was crunching some dog biscuits, that are very similar to cat food actually.

The lovely cat called Flekitza was posing like an advert cat for the cat crunches.

Beside the Corona, I bought also two bottles of beer called Desperado :) because that name sounded extremely cool, and I liked the overall design of the bottle and the label. The music from the Pulp Fiction movie started to play in my head instantly when I noticed this beer on a shelf near the Corona.
IMG_1608 samoMALO.jpg
I drank those two bottles while watching Zardoz, the old Science fiction movie... for the hundredth time ... I adore that flick. I see that is getting some low critic scores all around the Internet, and I admit that is a bit confusing and is not a perfect movie ... but I find it great and irresistible. It's campy in the best possible way, very colorful, filled with great imagination and impressive visuals ... it has some intelligent SF and philosophic ideas too. And is the product of the seventies ... and I'm a great fan of that exuberant seventies style with vivid colors and strange clothing.
And now ... with this short and unexpected movie review :D is time to end this little Corona report ... as always in these posts on Steemit, the photographs are made by me.

Don't let the cats overeat haha

Fortunately, there is no danger with that dry food :D They don't like that stuff very much.

and what the name "Veveritza" does stand for?

a nice post, read almost all of it.
dark !BEER (not corona one)

Cheers. :D Veveritza is Squirrel, all cats are good at climbing, but she is more then average climbing oriented cat, spends most of her time on trees, on top of the stuff in general, rarely touches the floor :)

I can imagine the cat kibble bill :)) I just love this post. The cats are wonderful. Little Bepina precious.
Good way to handle a pandemic: hang with family and chill out :)

Hahaha... great post for quarantine!
