I am not the only mint lover here.steemCreated with Sketch.

There was a time that I was trying really hard to have some herbs on my balcony. I did try to grow basil, chives, thyme, rosemary, and of course mint. Well.. that didn't go so well. I did manage to enjoy them for a a while, but I would love to have them as perennial, especially rosemary and thyme that can grow to some sized bushes. Some survived a while in the end I ditched all the post with dead sticks.

And then comes this mint that we all know grows like a crazy weed if you only let it. I had two types planted in one pot to enjoy some on my salads, some for my tea and of course some for my summer drinks.
I grew up on the countryside where everyone had mint in their garden. We had a huge mint always growing in the corner of a garden trying to take over the garden, but I never saw it blooming! It was always cut in its prime, dried and stored in jars for tea purposes. That was such a surprise for me to see those lovely, light lavender flowers open. Tiny, on quite tall stalks and boy... the smell of them! You would expect some mint fragrance, but no... they smell like sweet honey. So beautiful!

And as I was enjoying the view of multiple clusters dancing on the wind I saw this very weird wasp enjoying it too. I don't get insects often, so I grabbed my camera I tried to approach it to take some photos and do not disturb it much. Let her eat.
It turned out that she didn't even care about me, so i had some time to watch her. A weird one with dark colours. Not a bee, not a wasp, quite big too... some strange thing that I never saw before. Pretty nevertheless.

And then she decided to hide.
But just for a second.

Just check out one more time the flowers. It was an apple mint that bloomed so nice. It has a milder flavour than the Pepper mint. Great to chop some fresh leaves and add to salads.
The flowers are super tiny but there is so so many of them. I am not sure of it is edible.. but the mint itself is a must have for me!

Brrrrr. I'm so afraid of wasps. Sometimes even pictures are enough to frighten me! Nice pics nonetheless!!

This one didn't even look at me :) She was too busy eating.

Love mint as well! Never tried to plant ot thow... maybe I'll try in the near future!

You should, especially if you have a garden. They grow really well directly in soil.
