yea I largely stopped using any China sites. Was following a bit during coronavirus and I can say it’s really bad, basically unusable as discussions are constantly deleted or ruined by 五毛党

50 cent army. Basically a flood of millions of Chinese is supposedly paid 50 cents for every pro-Chinese propaganda they post around the internet, whether its Facebook comments or tweets or whatever. Realistically it's just a requirement in their jobs but the term just refers to those contrived, blindly pro CCP comments you find all over the place. they amount to a not-insignificant chunk of the entire internet's content.
