How cool is this car!? The first time I heard of the Beetle, was when I saw it parked across the street from school. At that point, an 8 year old me says to mom:"What a weird looking car."

"Did you know that the engine is at back of the car? In the boot."

"No way!" I look back and see the student taking his school bag from the front of the car." I was shocked. My 8 year old brain could not comprehend this new idea of a car. How was it possible?

Well, it was possible. Different concepts of the same subjects drive creativity, innovation, improvement and new technologies.

It was things like this that taught me to look at things from different perspectives. Though not in the mind of an 8 year old but in the mind of an 18 year old.

It's interesting how things can go over our heads when we were younger and make a huge impact in our lives later one, for example, those hidden dirty jokes in my Disney films, sure did ruin my childhood, haha.

What technologies surprised you growing up? And which dirty joke from what film ruined your childhood?

Sort:

It's funny you mention the Beetle which had the engine in the back and that is a classic example, although most Porsche do along with a whole raft of other car manufactures. And once you get to Electrical vehicles like Teslas they all have a front storage space, and a normal rear boot because the batteries are stored in the base of the car!

I grew uo resorting them with my dad. Hed buy them cheap, fix them up and sell them for more. I had one before I couldn't drive anymore. I had to sell it. 69, Baja style, dual exhaust, bambie bumpers on front/back, roof lights with toggle switches lights faving both front and back. I loved my car. But i could drive anymore. So i had to sell him. Bumblebee Screenshot_20200210-182615_Instagram.jpg
