US Space Force's Secretive Spacecraft To Test Power Beaming From Space?

The newly created US Space Force has been quite busy. After being questioned and ridiculed about their role in the US military, the Space Force is now showing that it could serve some great uses, the full details of which might not be made public.

Recently, the Force launched the robotic X-37B space plane on its sixth mystery mission on May 17 from the Cape Canaveral Air Force station. The plane has already conducted five earlier secretive missions.

At this time the full extent of the mission is not known. Conspiracies are running wild trying to speculate what it could be all about. It ranges anywhere between "waste of resources" to "world domination plans".

Not everything is hidden under the cloak of secrecy though. Space Force officials have revealed some juicy tidbits. They have stated that the spacecraft is packing many military and NASA experiments. These include experiments and equipment to test the beaming of solar power from space.

Space Power!!!

How cool would it be if we could gather solar energy above Earth's atmosphere and beam it down to the planet? The Earth receives A LOT of solar energy. In fact, in one hour, the amount of solar power that strikes the Earth is more than the entire world consumes in a year!

Of course, we can't capture all of that energy. To be able to do that, we would have to cover the entire Earth in solar panels. However, we could have giant space solar farms that could capture the energy and beam it down to Earth.

This would allow us to capture solar energy much more efficiently since there is no medium blocking sun rays in space. Even if we are able to capture a small percentage, it would go a long way towards solving the energy issues of the planet.

It would be a clean and unlimited source of energy. The research done by the Space Force in this area could prove to be very valuable. If this is cracked, we will be well on our way to becoming a Type I civilization!
