Out for a stroll in the capital of Finland!

in OCD5 years ago

Hey everyone,

As you may already know Helsinki is the capital of Finland and surprisingly I have only been there two times in the past. Last time being over seven years ago. We don't have any really big cities here so Helsinki is the closest you can get to one. It's a beautiful city with a lot to offer.

I wanted to share a bit of our trip with you all so I took a couple of photos and decided to make a post about it. When we arrived it was kind of hard to decide what to do first and I don't like to plan too much ahead of time. We were only staying for a few hours so we decided to just walk around for a bit and see what we find.

First stop we made was by the cathedral of Helsinki and here is the picture I took there. This one is an Evangelical Lutheran cathedral for anyone that is interested.

After I took these photos we decided to go towards the water and find a nice cool place to relax for a while and drink something refreshing. We found a quiet spot close to the "Uspenski Cathedral" which is yet another cathedral and we were going to this one after we finished our drinks. This one is an Eastern Orthodox Cathedral. We did not go inside to either of the cathedrals unfortunately.

I also took photos of two different statues. A bird decided to photo bomb both pictures by sitting on the head.

After we had walked along the city for a couple of hours we decided to go do some shopping and after that we would get ready to start leaving for home. I decided to snap photos of the train station as well since I think it's pretty cool and we happened to walk right past it on our way back to the shopping center and our parking spot. Here it is.

I also ran in and took a photo from the inside which I also thought looked really nice.

These are my favorite photos from this trip and I hope you liked them aswell! Helsinki really has a lot to offer and you can not see it all in one day. I do think that we did get to see a fair amount and I will surely be going back for the rest at some point. I kind of wanted to visit the amusement park but that would take a whole day by itself so it'll have to wait for next time. It might be for the best though since they will be launching a new rollercoaster there next year.

I really recommend anyone to visit this great city. I will definitely be back!

This was it for my post today. I really hope you enjoyed it. If you have been in Helsinki before, what was your favorite thing there? Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below! And remember to follow.

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace, Straw
