There have been so many consistent warnings about humans habitation near water bodies, but over and over again, humans have failed to respect the space for nature. There are places in Nigeria where flood is experienced every year, but people still go there to live just a few months after the storm is over.
Since ancient times, civilizations have built their bases near important water sources, rivers, lakes, among others, for the economic welfare that seaports represent, hence the disrespect for natural spaces.
