This is how I want to be remembered - Part 2 (and last)

in Project HOPE2 years ago

Hello, friends in the previous post I shared with you a very interesting exercise that allows us to reflect on our legacy in this world and how we want to be remembered once we are no longer here. This is the second part of this post. Needless to say, the invitation is for you to do the same.

I would love for those of you who knew me, when you are posting about me on your social networks or blogs, or are chatting over coffee and I pop up, to remember me....

As an ambitious and fighting man, a lover of challenges and changes. Revolutionary and controversial, original and creative. As a promoter of improvements in everything that came into his life.

As a man who knew what he wanted, who went step by step, day after day seeking to live the reason for his existence: helping others, enjoying every minute of his life and leaving an indelible mark in people's lives through: his enthusiasm, depth and sincerity in his written or spoken words..

By way of contribution

As I mentioned at the beginning of the previous post, the book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People ", by Stephen Covey, has a chapter where he invites us to reflect on this topic. I have the book in physical, so I will quote the exact page where you can find this chapter. Chapter II, Second Habit, page 111. Here I only give you an excerpt, but in that section of the book, you will find the whole exercise narrated in full. Here I leave you the essence of the exercise and the questions that the author leaves us, I consider that they can complement what this initiative implies.

When he arrives at the coffin and looks inside, he suddenly comes face to face with himself. That is his own funeral, which will take place three years from now. All those people have come to pay a final tribute to you, to express feelings of love and appreciation for you.

Now, think deeply. What would you like one of those speakers to say about you and your life? What kind of husband or wife, father or mother, would you like their words to reflect? What kind of son, daughter or cousin? What kind of friend? What kind of co-worker?

What character would you like them to have seen in you? What contributions, what accomplishments do you want them to remember? Look carefully at the people around you. How would you like to have influenced their lives?

A big hug and thanks for visiting my blog.
