Fault in the MACHINERY

It takes around 18 years to complete the schooling and another 3-4 years to receive the graduation. In totality, these consume the 21 to 22 years of our life. And this is how we start experiencing our life.

And during all these years we are expected to behave & think in a certain manner which is very similar to what we do at a job.
-- Timely reporting at school/job
-- Mid breaks at school/job
-- Good grades/work mean getting promoted to next class/ salary hike
and many more.

The way schools or colleges work is very similar to how corporates work. In fact, these institutions were earlier set up to fulfil the requirements of the industries and hence the similarities.

So, if a student is groomed in such a manner for 22-23 years, how are we expecting them to become an entrepreneur? The very reason why students opt for jobs and not entrepreneurship or freelancing is that they never got the exposure in that direction.

How can a student aspire to become a "freelancer" if the first 23 years of his life was surrounded by predefined rules and regulations? We are somewhere not giving students the environment that is required for their growth.

If we want to see some changes in our society, we somewhere need to change the practices that we follow inside the schools and colleges.

The education structure needs some urgent modification or else it will go obsolete.

Before complaining about the OUTPUT, we must first check our MACHINERY.

Sort:

The educational system really has to be looked into, especially in Nigeria where white collar jobs are few and pay even peanuts for stress.
