Life Issues With Ore Debby ■ 38 ~ TRUST AND OBEY
Hello beautiful people. Happy weekend to everyone. You remember when God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac and didn't tell Abraham why?
Many have asked; "why?"
Do you know how hard it is to sacrifice your only son/heir you waited 25 years for? None of us knows.
In the school of the spirit, Obedience & Trust are packaged deals, you can't exercise one without the other. One of the ways God tests our ability to trust and obey him is by instructing us to do something without giving us any explanation at all.
Sometimes God through his spirit will tell someone; "Stand up and raise your hand," they will wonder what kind of strange instruction that is, they will disobey because they are in the office and it will look awkward, or because of over-familiarity with God. The same hand will be cut off in an accident a few days later.
A person can be in a gathering of friends and or family and God will tell them to stand up and go home. They will disobey because they haven't shared item 7. They will sit there until they will say something that will lead to enmity between them and their friends and or family for the next 25 years.
Or will go to an office to see a man they believe will help them and while seating at the reception, God will ask that person to talk to the next person that comes in, in obedience, they decide to obey and the next person that comes in is their wife, they went to obtain favor from a man but they ended up obtaining favor from God. Meanwhile, the person they hoped will help them will disappoint.
God can instruct someone, fast today. That will be the day hunger will grow horns and then one of the girls they love in the office they work will come and offer them meat pie and a drink, I mean something that has never happened before. When it's time for promotion, they will promote her over that person.
Someone will meet a man who is the embodiment of her spec, God will say don't marry him. Because of love, her age, and his potential, she will disobey and marry him. 2 years later, she will be widowed and her head will be shaved and they will call her a witch, accusing her of killing him to inherit his properties. God sees the end from the beginning.
I can go on and on, you have also experienced this in your life, you must have heard the STILL SMALL VOICE, the voice of instruction and discernment. Once the spirit of God instructs you, Obey.
In the school of growth, if you fail, you can go back and repeat the class or test. In the school of the spirit, there may be no resit. Stand up and speak, obey. Don't go, obey. Sit down and keep quiet, Obey. Go, Obey.
I will leave you with two short stories to help you understand this:
Story 1
Chibuzor prayed, fasted, and kept vigil for months for a promotion at work, When the response came, God asked him to resign the next day.
Resign? How? Why?
He was confused. He told his wife what God said, she disagreed and told him not to resign or else she would make the house a living hell for him. Where were they going to see money to eat and cope with the rising cost of everything?

To make matters worse, she reported him to his parents who forbade him from resigning. It got to the extent they had a family meeting because of it. He told them what God said but they told him it was the enemy whispering to him.
He delayed resigning for 5 months, the day he came in to resign, he was arrested alongside other people for a fraud investigation. He spent 4 years in jail before his name was cleared and he still lost the job. The wife left and married someone else.
It took him another 5 years to get a job, a total of 9 years down the drain because he didn't obey.
Story 2
About two weeks ago, a friend was at a client's place in an estate playing with a laptop when a man arrived in a jeep, He greeted him and when the man wanted to leave and he was instructed to follow him.
What a strange thing. He had not even done the work he came to do. He obeyed, gave the client one excuse, and also told the client to help him inform the man he would like to follow him to the junction. He got in the car, got talking with the man and it happened that they were going the same way, so he didn't need to stop at the junction.
After 10 minutes, he checked for his wallet but didn't see it. He told him he had to go back. In haste, he had forgotten his wallet on the seat at the client's house.
He was like no, that he shouldn't worry, that his friend would probably give him the next day but he should call. He insisted on going back though, the man quickly asked him to take some money to take an Uber back since it was not too far.
He alighted from the jeep, and the man left. His phone started ringing, it was his client asking where he was, he had seen his wallet and was on his way out to give him.
When he checked the money, it was 10k the man gave him. 😅 What? Wow. The Holy Spirit said that was why He said to follow him, to receive 10k for free. Hr went back with his client to begin the work he was supposed to do initially.
One thing is sure, God has your best interest at heart. He is Alpha & Omega. There are many reasons he may be requesting your obedience and trust: he may be protecting you, or he may be working out a miracle for you but he doesn't want you to know so that you will not misbehave, misbelief, misunderstand, become greedy, impatient, immoral, ungrateful, discouraged or in the end expose it to the enemies out of carelessness.
