Failure Is Neither A Call To Quit Nor An End
In the journey of life, there are many things that you need to understand so that it will guide you through it. Among what to understand is that failure does not mean that the end has come for you. In fact, you may experience some setbacks in life, but that is among the experiences that life is teaching, so that you will be better. That you have not hit your target at the first attempt does not mean that you should see yourself as a failure, so you need to keep trying. It is in the moments of setback and adversity that your true worth is validated, so do not allow it to discourage you.
If you will observe the many successful people that have made great things in life, you will discover that there is something that they have in common; resilience. That is, they never allowed anything to keep them from trying again and again. A friend of mine once said something after he wrote a particular exam and failed it, he said that he will keep trying it until failure gets tired of him. He resolved not to allow the failure in that paper to hold him in bondage, he tried again. Adorably, the next attempt that he made to write the exam was his moment of glory. He wrote it and became among the best in the set. If he had been discouraged after failing the first time, he would not have succeeded.
It is true that the moment that you experience failure, you can feel some bad emotions like depression, sadness, disappointment, etc, which can actually lead you to question your own capacity and your true personality. However, you should understand that failure should not become your identity, neither is it meant to define who you are nor reduce your worth, it should be a tool of lesson, to make you better and to make room for more growth and personal development. You do not really fail because you experienced failure but if you did not learn anything from it and if you refuse to rise up.
As long as you learnt things from your last failed attempt and that you have risen from it, then it was not totally useless. Of course, anything that teaches good lessons is not totally useless. A lot of people learn more from what others consider failure that even from success itself. When you see failure as a "lesson teacher," you will not feel like the whole world had crashed on you because you failed - you will just simply learn from it, move on to implement the lessons in the next attempt and you will be surprised at the result you will command. If you will be observant to know the reason why you failed the first time and avoid it in your next attempt, you will succeed.
In order to turn failure to success, there are things that you need to know even when you are trying again. It does not stop at trying again, but trying differently. If you do what you did before that made you to fail in the same manner, you may not succeed no matter how many times you have tried it. When trying again, it is important and necessary for you to do it differently and with a different approach. You cannot be stuck at a method that has never worked for you previously and expect it to suddenly work for you. In order to prove that you have learnt something from your past errors and failures, you have to show it by trying things differently.
Furthermore, to break lose from the string of failure, you have to stay in the company of successful people. They will pass on to you the methods that they applied to their own life that brought greatness to them. Trust me, if you stay around people that are comfortable with failure, it will rob off on you and you will see yourself failing repeatedly. But if your dominant friends are successful people, you will also imbibe the personality of succeeding and it will become your lifestyle. Always remember that your friends can either help you to achieve success or mar you, so choose with wisdom.
