Waiting For The Process To Mature: Patience

in Project HOPE8 days ago

One of the major problems that is facing a lot of people in this era, which has also led them into doing many unwholesome things, is that they want everything quick-quick. The truth is that in life, there is always a need of patience in everything that you want to do. In fact, you cannot start a life's journey and arrive at the destination on the same day, but it has to take time. If you are not willing to give it the required time and have the patience you need, you may not see the blessedness of the action that you have taken. You will be surprised how many people have given up on trying because they lack patience. When you have learnt how to be patient, you will discover that living your life will be better.

It is worthy to note that for every goal or dream that you have, there is a period of maturity which it has to take before it matures. This period may vary from everyone else's own. This is why you have to focus on what your own dream says and then know the time frame for it. That someone has already started reaping the dividends of the actions they have put in life, does not mean that you are slow, neither does it mean that you will not reap your own. It calls for more patience, knowing that each person's destination is different and requires a different time frame. When you understand this, it will make you not to pursue life in a do-or-die manner.

Patience does not mean that you are not driven by the zeal to pursue your dream, but it simply removes desperation from you. When you have understood that life follows processes, you will not try to cut through corners or go through shortcuts. I have discovered that some people who normally cut through corners end up in the wrong corners. If you deviate from following after the processes and methods of what you want to achieve, then you may not achieve it. If you want to be a medical doctor for example, you cannot cut corners and jump into it - you have to go through medical school to become certified, which will normally take years.

There is nothing of value that you want to achieve that will not place obvious responsibilities on you, and part of them will be to exercise patience. Every goal has different maturity time. I once visited a manufacturing company in the area when I lived. This company produces various plastic products and became a household name. I observed that a small plastic spoon normally takes seconds to forge and they are produced in multiples per minute. However, a very big tank takes a much longer time to produce. You cannot expect the tank to be produced at the same time frame as the spoon becomes it is much bigger and complex, but when it is produced, it will sell costlier than the spoon. So you need to have the patience to wait.

Someone else might have already hit their target and is reaping the benefits, but it should not discourage you from continuing to put actions into yours. If you allow what someone has achieved to discourage you from yours, you will miss out of yours. You cannot expect someone that is running a marathon race in the Olympics to finish at the same time with someone running a 100m dash. If the marathon runner feels discouraged and drops out, they will not win the prize. When you learn to apply patience to life, you will discover that the many things that you would have broken yourself for, will eventually come to you.

In business for example, while you wait for the long-term, you can sustain yourself with the short-term, so that you will not feel tempted to reap your harvest before they mature. More so, you do not have to depend solely on just one source for sustenance; always diversify and you will see it will be easier to have patience than being limited to just one source. Remember that patience is a choice, not a gift, so make the choice to be patient.
