CREATIVIDAD EN LA FORMULACIÓN DE LOS COMPUESTOS QUÍMICOS // CREATIVITY IN THE FORMULATION OF CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS

El estudio de la química en general siempre ha sido motivo de grandes problema a lo largo de nuestra formación académica y esto se debe precisamente al escaso enfoque práctico que se le puede dar a esta ciencia en el entorno. Es justo allí donde todos los que tenemos la hermosa labor de enseñar esta materia debemos poner en práctica la creatividad, de tal forma de captar la atención de nuestros estudiantes y que el mensaje sea trasmitido de una forma amena y sencilla de comprender.
En la conceptualización básica de este estudio se podría indicar que es sencillo su abordaje, el problema radica cuando viene la parte práctica que involucra números y formulas, ya que para la gran mayoría de las personas los números tienden a verlos como los sus enemigos y por lo tanto se bloquean desde el principio, lo cual dificulta aún más su proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.

The study of chemistry in general has always been a major problem throughout our academic training and this is due precisely to the limited practical approach that can be given to this science in the environment. It is right there where all of us who have the beautiful job of teaching this subject must put into practice our creativity, in order to capture the attention of our students and to transmit the message in a pleasant and easy to understand way.
In the basic conceptualization of this study it could be indicated that it is simple to approach, the problem lies when it comes to the practical part involving numbers and formulas, since for most people numbers tend to see them as their enemies and therefore are blocked from the beginning, which further hinders the teaching-learning process.
En el siguiente post les presentare de una manera sencilla y divertida el estudio de uno de los temas fundamentales en la química como lo es “La formulación y nomenclatura de los compuestos químicos”, este es uno de las bases para esta ciencia que desde mi perspectiva es muy divertida, ya que está relacionada con nuestra vida diaria.
In the following post I will present in a simple and fun way the study of one of the fundamental topics in chemistry such as "The formulation and nomenclature of chemical compounds", this is one of the bases for this science that from my perspective is very fun, as it is related to our daily life.
Para el estudio de este contenido se debe manejar a la perfección los símbolos, nombres y valencia de cada uno de los elementos que conforman la tabla periódica es por ello que para facilitar su estudio me dedique a realizar un divertido juego denominado el “El bingo de los elementos químicos”.
For the study of this content, the symbols, names and valence of each of the elements that make up the periodic table must be handled to perfection, which is why to facilitate their study I dedicated myself to making a fun game called "Bingo of the chemical elements".
Para ello elaboramos las tablas de bingo tal y como se conocen actualmente, solo que en vez de colocar los números comunes, estos fueron sustituidos por los símbolos de cada uno de los elementos. En el caso de las chapas, se elaboraron pequeñas fichas de cartón que iban a ser introducidas en un recipiente pequeño como por ejemplo una pimpina y posteriormente ser removidos e iniciar el juego.
Las reglas para desarrollar el juego son similares al juego común solo que el docente debe ir indicando el nombre del elemento y el estudiante ubicarlo en cada una de sus tablas, ganara el estudiante que logre llenar una línea o columna en el menor tiempo posible.
Con esta actividad se fomenta en el estudiante una forma lúdica de aprender este contenido de índole científico sin la necesidad de utilizar los métodos tradicionales que para muchos puede ser muy engorroso.
Una vez que los estudiantes han adquiridos este aprendizaje pasamos al siguiente objetivo que es el tema central de este trabajo y es la formulación de los compuestos químicos, para ello empleo como recurso la pizarra utilizando una estrategia muy cotidiana y es que todos debemos entender que para el estudio de estos compuestos es necesario el intercambio de las valencias de los elementos participantes, entonces en este sentido se les indica a los jóvenes que imagínense que estos compuestos se casan, una de las leyes establece que se deben compartir los bienes de los conyugues, del mismo modo los elementos participantes deben intercambiar las valencias y de esta forma quedaran formulados siempre y cuando no sean números pares, ya que en estos casos se debe simplificar hasta su mínima expresión.
To do so, we elaborated the bingo tables as they are currently known, only that instead of placing the common numbers, these were replaced by the symbols of each of the elements. In the case of the bingo cards, we elaborated small cardboard tokens that were to be introduced in a small container such as a pimpina and then be removed and start the game.
The rules to develop the game are similar to the common game only that the teacher must indicate the name of the element and the student must locate it in each of its tables, the student who manages to fill a line or column in the shortest time possible will win.
This activity encourages students to learn this scientific content in a playful way without the need to use traditional methods, which for many can be very cumbersome.
Once the students have acquired this learning we move on to the next objective which is the central theme of this work and is the formulation of chemical compounds, for this I use as a resource the blackboard using a very everyday strategy and is that we must all understand that for the study of these compounds it is necessary to exchange the valences of the participating elements, then in this sense it is indicated to the young people that imagine that these compounds are married, one of the laws establishes that the goods of the spouses must be shared, in the same way the participating elements must exchange the valences and in this way they will be formulated as long as they are not even numbers, since in these cases it must be simplified to its minimum expression.
Una vez aclarado estos puntos importantes se procede a emplear un juego divertido denominado “LUDOQUIM”, este está relacionado el juego de ludo que muchos deben conocer actualmente solo que en cada casilla del tablero que elaboramos se encuentra un compuesto químico que según la posición de cada estudiante deben ir formulando y nombrando según sea el caso.
En esta actividad solo pueden participar 4 estudiantes por cada tablero, ganara el estudiante que logre llegar a la meta más rápido y por lo tanto será aquel que pueda formular y nombrar los compuestos que le correspondan, en el caso que el estudiante no sepa formular o nombrar el compuesto no podrá avanzar las casillas, por lo tanto los estudiantes deben estar comprometidos con el aprendizaje.
Este juego de verdad resulta todo un reto donde cada participante debe sentirse con la capacidad de poder responder de forma correcta los compuestos que le corresponda y de esta manera podrá manejar este tópico que es de gran importancia en el estudio de la química inorgánica.
Once these important points have been clarified, we proceed to use a fun game called "LUDOQUIM", this is related to the game of ludo that many should know nowadays, only that in each square of the board that we elaborate there is a chemical compound that according to the position of each student must formulate and name as the case may be.
In this activity only 4 students can participate in each board, the winner will be the student who reaches the goal faster and therefore will be the one who can formulate and name the corresponding compounds, in the case that the student does not know how to formulate or name the compound will not be able to advance the boxes, therefore students must be committed to learning.
This game is a real challenge where each participant must feel capable of answering correctly the corresponding compounds and in this way will be able to handle this topic that is of great importance in the study of inorganic chemistry.
Al igual que el bingo químico el ludoquim tiene como finalidad hacer el estudio de los elementos y compuestos químicos, algo dinámico y sencillo, que los jóvenes no lo vean como algo abstracto y complicado, solo que determine de forma amenas esta temática base para la continuidad de los objetivos siguientes.
Como docentes en el área de la ciencia debe existir una disposición en cada uno de los docentes en la búsqueda de estrategias continuas y constructivas, de tal forma que el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje sea significativo y perdure en el tiempo de cada uno de los estudiantes y puedan recordar este contenido cada vez que lo requieran.
Like the chemical bingo, the ludoquim aims to make the study of the elements and chemical compounds, something dynamic and simple, so that young people do not see it as something abstract and complicated, only to determine in an enjoyable way this thematic basis for the continuity of the following objectives.
As teachers in the area of science there must be a willingness in each of the teachers in the search for continuous and constructive strategies, so that the teaching-learning process is meaningful and endures in the time of each of the students and they can remember this content every time they require it.

Excellent strategies for the study of this topic that is generally difficult for students and is a fundamental basis in chemistry. As you say, we must maintain creativity and use strategies to increase interest and motivation. Thanks for sharing
Hi @yusvelasquez, that has been one of the great difficulties that all students face and it is as a consequence of continuing to use traditional methods for the study of chemistry that without a contextualized approach can become very abstract.
