Entrepreneurs Are happier and healthier than employees according to University Research Studies

in Project HOPE2 years ago

Most likely, you will work for a living to create a job and get some level of happiness in the process. Oh, and obviously you would like to be and stay healthy. One of the problems that are gaining attention in the world today is the mental health of people. That is good news for founders who have felt alone about their problems, but the whole process can create the impression that starting a business is a big blow to your health and happiness. Starting a business, you may conclude, can be a good investment, but it also has the potential to affect your mental and physical health.

But the opposite is actually true. While there are entrepreneurs who suffer from the stress of starting a business, science says that on average entrepreneurs are happier and healthier than employees.

Researchers there have found a fascinating process by compiling data from the Disease Control Center and the US Census. What they have found is that as the number of small businesses grows, the health of the surrounding community improves. And entrepreneurs, it turns out have a very low incidence of physical and mental illness, visit the hospital a few times, and report high levels of satisfaction in life.

That final discovery about life satisfaction raises an interesting question: if entrepreneurs, on average, are healthy, are they too happy? When Wharton surveyed some 11,000 students about their earnings and happiness, those who did more were generally satisfied with their lot in life. But the salary was certainly not a major predictor of happiness.

Business was. Those who run their businesses are the happiest of the students, no matter how much money they make.

So, suppose you are not a businessman and you want to be happy and have those feelings of accomplishment that have a small negative impact on your mental health.

  • Think like an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are owners of their own decisions and take risks, not risks to achieve their goals. They do what they want or better yet, what they love.

  • Love where you are. Life is short. Do you work for a company where you are truly committed and believe in a mission or is it just a job? If it is just a job, you may need to make some changes and do something fun every day.

  • Manage your time. In hindsight, do you control your time or do you control it? Is your day full of meetings and you feel like nothing really was done? Change the script and start creating a day in which you control your time. Block some time to breathe on your calendar. Do not say that again.

  • Manage your decisions. In the age of consensus or group thinking, you need to do your homework and research and learn to make and support your decisions. Nothing is better if the action or project you drive produces good results.

  • Increase your confidence. If you don’t really believe in yourself, why not someone else. He is your great champion.

  • Seek the support of counselors. Look for ways to increase your ability and knowledge. Set small goals and achieve them.

  • Your mind. Everyone was born doing nothing special. You can be whatever you want to be. The key is to fully embrace the concept of growing up, believing that you can learn and get what you need in order to be successful. Surround yourself with specific people who believe in you.

Though it is always hard to be an entrepreneur because it involves a lot of stress but trust me it is more profitable and convenient compared to being employed.
Once you are able to go through the stress and kickstart with the business, the stress begins to reduce because you would have employed different people who will carry out the stress for you.
In my view the employee go through alot of stress compared to the entrepreneur, because they do work under stress and mostly don't have time for their self.
Thanks for sharing this great post with love from @hardaeborla and I hope you have a great day ahead ❤️💞

I once read an article titled: "The Entrepreneurial Employee". It was about being able to do what you say in this post, to think like an entrepreneur even though I was an employee. Strive to be independent, to climb the corporate ladder and reach levels, positions, raises. And if possible, save what you need to start your own business.

Being an entrepreneur, we work for something of our own, something we love, something that inspires us to sacrifice ourselves, but not out of duty, but out of love, out of passion.

Thank you for this excellent publication. I loved it.
