Durante la historia del deporte las señas eran enviadas desde el dogout hacia el receptor y este se las enviaba al lanzador en una rutina que estamos acostumbrados de ver y participar en la cual el lanzador observa la seña ymediante un movimiento de su cabeza podía indicar si estaba de acuerdo o no, muchas veces el receptór tenía que acercarse a la lomita para acordar con el lanzador sobre las señás a utilizar.

Esto genera preguntas como por ejmplo el rol del receptór quien siempre era considerado como el jugador con mayor responsabilidad en la estrategia pues el se encarga de guiar a los lanzadores, y se ha demostrado con la gran cantidad de receptores que luego triunfaron como managers, como por ejemplo Joe Torre o Henry Blanco en el caso de Venezuela, y representa una muestra dela evolución del deporte a lo largo de los años, que ahora trata de aprovechar la tecnología para su uso.

Y comento esto porque muchas personas se encuentran en contra de la innovación que se ha presentado en los últimos años, considerando que se desvirtua el espiritu del juego, pero la MLB al igual que otras ligas deben evolucionar para adaptarse a los nuevos tiempos, claro hay que considerar el uso de las reglas para poder aplicarlas despues al más alto nivel, como se esta haciendo con estos equipos universitarios y también en ligas menores e independientes.

El juego de Baseball es uno que tiene muchos años y la historia de la liga han existido cambios exitosos como por ejemplo la inclusion del bateador designado, o cuando bajaron la loma unas pulgadas luego del año del lanzador en los 60´s

Entre los cambios que más aplaudo esta el del bateador designado para ambas ligas: por más que resulte interesante el ver a un pitcher batear, la mayoría de la veces le restan la posiblidad de ver turnos de calidad y evidentemente la repetición instantenea! cuantos no quisimos tenerla en aquel famóso juego perfecto de Armando Galarraga, la nueva zona de strike propuesta que se evalua por computadoras debería a mi criterio aplicarse en casos puntuales como la postemporada, ya que no todo funciona bien en cada momento.
