The place where I spent my childhood, where I spent my golden time, is my favorite village, Jhaugarah. Which is located in Nandail Upazila of Mymensingh district of Bangladesh. The village is quite a bit inside from the main city of Nandail, and Jhaugara village has developed in the quiet heart of the rural township. The village is directly connected to another village, which is Achargaon village. Jhaugarah village is located right after Achargaon village. Where you can go on foot or from the main city, you can also go by battery-powered rickshaw. The village is very dear to me. Because I grew up in the village as a child. Maybe I don't live in the village for the sake of my livelihood, but I miss the village a lot. And whenever I get time, I rush to the village to enjoy the green and peaceful nature of the village.

What makes this place beautiful or special to you?

The village of Jhaugara is not just a piece of land on a map or a common name. It is directly related to my soul. Because where I was born, where I grew up, there is a pull of the soul. The green, calm environment of the village and the fresh air of the village are all my favorites.

When the mechanical noise of the city tires my mind, I immediately rush to enjoy the beauty of the village. It is like a piece of peace. There is no concrete jungle here, no black smoke of cars or the loud sound of horns! Instead, there is our familiar paved road, where the clatter of battery-powered autos and rickshaws mixes with a strange magical peace. Here you will see people coming out in the afternoon to go to the market. Some go on foot, while others go to the market by bicycle. The village markets are very busy from the afternoon to the evening.

The most enjoyable thing is that our beloved Narasunda River flows past the village. This river and its surrounding valleys are like silent witnesses to the innocent days of my childhood, the excitement of golden afternoons, and every emotional moment of growing up. The smell of the soil here, the scent of crops, and the innocent smiles of the simple faces of the people I know inspire a love that is impossible to find anywhere else in the world.

What natural elements or scenery attracted your attention the most?

Since the village is my own. So I like everything in the village. Every element of the village fills my mind with a deep longing.
This is the horizon of rice fields. As far as the eye can see, there is only the picture of vast rice fields. It is now the Bengali month of Jaishtha, so many have harvested their crops, while many still have to. However, in the village, the excitement of rice harvesting fades in the month of Baishakh. The sight of golden rice accompanied by the wind! This moment is enough to enjoy the beauty of the village.

The view of the earthen road passing through the village is also like a scene drawn in the art of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin! The moments of walking along the earthen road of the village are great. Several people are standing on the side of the road; these are the real beauty of the village.

The view of the clouds playing in the sky in the afternoon is also great. When the roar of clouds in the sky is heard in the intense heat all day, the thirst of the mind disappears in an instant.

How does this place reflect the natural beauty or environment of your area?

Our Jhaugara village presents a traditional form of nature. Being located far away from the city, there is no noise of the city here. There is only peace and silence here. The simple people here live in harmony with nature without any artificiality. Although there is a problem of load shedding, there is not so much suffering in people's lives. Because even in this intense heat, the natural breeze cools the hearts of people.

Here, a close relationship has been formed between people and nature. The hustle and bustle of fishing in the river during the monsoon, the hustle and bustle of harvesting rice in the summer, all seem to be related to each other. The lands here are also quite fertile due to the alluvial soil. Farmers can produce good yields.

What story or feeling do you think this place expresses through your photographs?

Through my photographs, I wanted to tell the story of a lost childhood nostalgia and a deep spiritual peace.

The most beautiful story is that of three children taking a picture together. This scene reminds us that true happiness does not require expensive things. The real joy lies in being able to breathe deeply in the lap of nature and being in touch with the earth.

No matter how lost we are in the busyness of the world, our quiet village, the method path, and the innocent charm of childhood are our only refuge at the end of the day.

Personal Report

Myself

We travel so many places in the pursuit of life and see so many cities. But the joy of returning to our roots at the end of the day is impossible to find in any other part of the world. Our village of Jhaugarah captures the eternal form of nature. Where the calm cool breeze of the morning, the sunset of the afternoon, and the scorching sun of the afternoon all seem to speak of a different time. The river flowing past the village also seems to teach us to live anew.
