What childhood food or dish do you still remember clearly, and why is it special to you?

I still remember eating puffed rice, biscuits, and tea in the morning and evening as a child. It was a very delicious meal, especially on winter mornings. I still remember these meals. It was a great joy to sit with my family and drink puffed rice and tea. In winter, when the sun peeked out in the morning, my mother would make tea and puffed rice and let them sit in the sun to eat. I lived in the village with my parents when I was young. My favorite food in rural life was these childhood foods.

  • Tea
  • Puffed rice
  • Biscuits

My childhood favorite food

My grandparents and I loved puffed rice with tea the most. These childhood foods were traditional. When guests came to the house, the demand for the food increased. Especially, the cost of food for breakfast and an afternoon snack was low. After drinking tea, the body felt refreshed. After mixing puffed rice with hot tea, the taste increased. Besides, I still remember the memories of eating tea, biscuits, and puffed rice with siblings and friends during the rainy season. I think the food strengthened the family relationship.

Who usually prepared this food for you, and how did it make you feel at that time?

In our family, my mother used to make tea, biscuits, and puffed rice for us in the morning. My mother used to make food for my grandparents and my younger brother. I used to bring tea, biscuits, and puffed rice to my grandparents. Then my mother, brother, and I would eat tea and biscuits together. When I was little, I saw my mother making puffed rice at our house. Once a year, she would make puffed rice at home in the village method, which would last for about a year. Later, we all made tea and ate it with puffed rice every morning.

When and where did you usually eat it (home, school, village, special occasions)?

I used to eat tea, biscuits, and puffed rice - a childhood memory that I enjoyed every morning and evening at home. The meals were very popular, especially in the morning and evening at the reading table. I also ate the meals at home for guests or family events. When my relatives came to visit our house during my childhood, the taste of the meals would increase even more because I would eat them while listening to stories. However, I ate the meals mostly at the reading table during breakfast in the morning.

When I eat childhood food for breakfast on weekends

What emotions come back when you think about the taste, smell, or moment?

The taste and smell of the food were extraordinary. Especially when drinking tea, the hot steam of the tea leaves still hits my nose. Besides, the taste of biscuits and puffed rice soaked in hot tea was very good. I still remember a special moment from my childhood. I used to waste time eating tea and puffed rice while studying. Eating these foods took a lot of time, and then I could take a rest between studying. Because when I was young, I was less focused on my studies, so I used to waste time by eating food to study less. The different types of toast biscuits were very tasty. The toast biscuits that I ate with tea in my childhood are no longer made. However, a type of small biscuits were very popular back then.

It's fun to mix biscuits and puffed rice with hot tea

Is this food still part of your life today, or does it remain only as a memory?

I still eat tea, biscuits, and puffed rice at home. My wife makes tea, biscuits, and puffed rice for me every evening because I like them very much. Especially after working in the office all day, I eat these foods when I come home at night to relieve my fatigue. My children at home like these foods very much. On weekends, I have tea, biscuits, and puffed rice for breakfast.

Memories are a comparison of time that cannot be repeated. We have left our childhoods far behind, and the places and habits we once did or enjoyed may still exist, but they are very few.

The phrase "love blossoms again" is sometimes born when we are in a place, with someone, or enjoying a favorite food. Memories have a strong emotional bond, even though a long time has passed.

Hopefully your success, sir @mahadisalim 🙏

¡Saludos amigo!🤗

Greetings,

Thank you so much for participating in the contest.

Tea, puffed rice, and biscuits feel truly special on winter mornings. The village atmosphere and moments of eating together with the whole family create a strong sense of nostalgia. Sitting and eating with parents and grandparents reminds us how strong and warm family bonds are.

You answered each question nicely. After a long day at the office, enjoying a favorite childhood food really feels comforting and good.
