Hello friends of #StoryOnSteem, I'm late to this challenge "A place full of childhood memories" but I didn't want to miss out because it's one of my favorites

As a child and even as an adult, I have loved open spaces, being in contact with nature and especially with animals. I feel I have a special connection with them, and looking back, there is no better place from my childhood than the Zoo; I spent the best Sundays of my childhood there.

I was super happy as a child visiting the Zoo

The Zoo is located a few blocks from my house, right at the Toro roundabout on Avenida las Delicias in Maracay. It is a magical place that provides incredible peace. (Although I must admit that once I grew up, my thoughts about zoos changed.) As a child, they were my favorite place and my refuge. The zoo was the meeting place for my family and also my favorite place to run, play, and be happy.

As a child I was happy to see the animals, but now I don't think it's so cool that they're locked up.

I believe that family gatherings, sharing with loved ones, childhood games, and the love I developed for animals are undoubtedly connected to this place. Passing by the zoo brings back beautiful memories, laughter, joy, and the love I've always received from my family. The smell of pure nature, mixed with the smell of popcorn, takes me back to my childhood, and those memories are the sweetest and most special.

I always went to the zoo with my parents, and my uncles and my sister would join us, and of course my grandmother who was always there for all the moments of my childhood. We would go out to eat on Sundays and the zoo was clearly a must-see for everyone.

My family

Together with them we experienced very special moments at the zoo facilities, I learned about the love and respect we should have for animals, I thoroughly enjoyed the quality time my parents gave me, and I believe that all the memories there marked not only my childhood but also my present life.

This place evokes mixed emotions in me. On the one hand, I cherish it because it was the setting for some of my best family moments and my safe haven for play. But now, as an adult, I find it hard to see it the same way. I question it a lot, and it pains me to know that there are animals kept there, which clashes with the respect I feel for them. It remains special because of my memories, but it no longer seems like the 'magical' place it did as a child. In fact, I haven't been back since, not even to write reviews for Steem Atlas.

Despite my changing perspective, it's important to keep this place in my heart because those paths hold the best Sundays of my life. Beyond the animals, the zoo was the meeting place where my family forgot everything and simply spent time together, playing.

Preserving those memories is important because they remind me of where I come from and how lucky I was to grow up surrounded by so much love.

Although my ideals today make me see the place differently, the happiness I felt as a child on those family outings is a treasure that doesn't change; it is the root of my best emotions and the driving force that makes me a person who values and respects life in all its forms."
