The Diary Game: 18/01/2026 | A Winter Workday with Small Joys
As-salamu alaykum, My Dear Steemit friends
Winter is still here, and waking up early in this cold weather feels a bit lazy every morning. But there’s no option, office starts at 9:00 AM. I woke up around 7–8 AM, took a shower, got ready, had breakfast, and left home for the office at around 8:20.
The road I usually take is still under construction. Only a few autos and rickshaws pass through, and it’s hard to find one on time. So I walked for some distance until I reached a better road where auto-rickshaws are available. From there, I took a rickshaw to the office. The fare was 20 taka.
As usual, office work kept me busy. Everything runs according to schedule, documentation, preparing estimates, guiding technicians through the system, handling emails, and communicating with customers over phone and email. Since I am the in-charge of the service center, I also join daily catch-up meetings with management to share updates. The day goes by quickly with all this work. Sometimes it feels stressful, but overall I enjoy the busyness.

During the one-hour lunch break, I had lunch, refreshed myself, and regained some energy. After that, I continued working until the office closed at 6:00 PM.
One of my colleagues wanted to buy a new mobile phone, so he asked me to go to the shopping mall with him. We took a rickshaw to Shubastu Nazrul Valley Shopping Mall. The rickshaw fare was 70 taka. We passed through United University, reached the 100-feet road, crossed New Market, and finally arrived at the mall.

I always like to enjoy this view of the shopping mall
The mobile showrooms are on the 4th floor. We went to the Realme authorized showroom, where the phone had already been selected online, Realme C71. The price was 16,999 taka. The phone has good features, including a decent camera, strong battery backup, water resistance, and overall it’s very budget-friendly. The salesman told us that this model is currently one of the highest-selling phones compared to others.
After purchasing the phone, we completed the basic setup and then came down to the ground floor by lift. To celebrate the new phone, my colleague treated me to burgers from a fast-food shop. After some light chatting, he left by bus. I walked a little, took a rickshaw, and returned home.
After freshening up, I had dinner and wrote my Steemit diary. I also checked some news on online portals. Since I had office the next day, I went to bed early. Early to bed, early to rise.
