I chose a monument located at a bus terminal intersection. The name of the monument is- Independence Monument Sculpture "Sangram". This monument stands as a symbol of the Language Movement, the Liberation War, and the independence of Bangladesh.
Why I selected it
I selected this object because it is deeply connected with our country’s history, emotions, and sacrifices. It is not just a structure; it represents our pride, struggle, and identity. Also, since it is placed in an important location like a bus terminal, many people can see it. It constantly reminds us of those historical events and the sacrifices made for our language and freedom. That is why I chose this monument.
Why this location fits the object
This location perfectly fits the object because the monument is situated at a busy four-road intersection near a bus terminal. Every day, many people and vehicles pass through this area, including travelers from different places. Because of this, the monument easily catches people’s attention. It not only reminds the local people of our history but also visitors from other parts of the country.
What story, feeling, or message you wanted to express
Through this, I wanted to express feelings of patriotism, memory, and respect. I wanted to show that our independence did not come easily; it was achieved through great sacrifice and struggle. That is why monuments related to the Language Movement and the Liberation War are placed in public spaces like roadsides or museums, to keep the memory alive.
How I tried to make the object feel like a character
I used close-up shots, slow camera movement, and careful framing to make the monument feel like a living character. I focused on the raised hands at the top of the monument. These hands look like unknown characters that are still telling the story of our history. They reflect the spirit of the Language Movement and inspire us to stand united against injustice even today.

Very interesting, it's true! History isn't written easily without the struggle of a group of people. It's a shame when the "Sangram" independence monument or other historical monuments are merely tourist attractions without being considered sacred objects commemorating the struggles of the people of the past.
We hope that as you have said, the people and the current generation can remember the struggle by seeing or visiting a historical monument, and we it not be considered just a folk tale by future generations.
This also applies in our country, where people only visit historical monuments for fun without even remembering the tremendous struggles of our ancestors in achieving victory and establishing an independent nation.

A memorial sculpture of the Language Movement is visible in your entry.The spirit of independence and the language movement are a source of pride for us Bengalis. I saw this pillar in the middle of a busy street in your video. The monument was sometimes missing in the video. I would have enjoyed it even more if the camera had been stabilized. However, the images mentioned in the post along with the video were very clear and elegant. Best wishes to you.

Your Independence Monument Sculpture "Sangram" is good symbolic object for a one minute movie prompt.
It represents the purpose well especially at 14th second when the scene suddenly changes.

I really enjoyed watching your video, it is really admirable to present this "Sangram" sculpture, a symbol of Bangladesh's independence and struggle, as a character. I liked the 14-second shot of the video the most. It is very challenging to make a video on a busy road, but I wish the shots were a little more stable and cinematic music could have been used in the background instead of traffic noise.
