Weekly Drawing Contest 53 | Drawing Of Water Bottle"
Hello everyone!
I am so excited to be participating in this week’s drawing contest. First, I want to send a warm opening greeting and regards to our host, @m-fdo, for organizing such a creative challenge. I also want to greet the entire community, it is always a pleasure to see the talent shared here!
Today, I am sharing my process for drawing a water bottle. Drawing transparent objects can be tricky, but it’s a great way to practice light and shadow. Here is how I brought my drawing to life, step-by-step:
Step 1: Preparation & Materials:
I started by gathering my essential tools, plain paper, a ruler for straight edges, a sharp pencil, and a razor for precision sharpening. I also kept a reference drink nearby to study how light hits a cylindrical surface.
Step 2: Establishing the Frame Using my ruler:
I drew two light parallel lines to define the width and height of the bottle. This ensures the drawing stays symmetrical and balanced on the page.
Step 3: Creating the Neck and Cap:
I began detailing the top of the bottle, sketching the cap and the curved "shoulders" where the bottle narrows.
Step 4: Defining the Body:
I extended the lines downward to create the main body of the bottle, ensuring the base had a slight curve to give it a 3D cylindrical look.
Step 5: Adding the Water Level and Logo:
I drew a main body line and a curve across the middle to represent the water level. I also added a "S" logo on the front to give the bottle some character, and the S logo stand's for Steemit.
Step 6: Adding Details and Bubbles:
To make it look more realistic, I added small circles to represent air bubbles trapped inside the water and added texture to the bottle cap.
Step 7: Shading and Depth:
This is where the drawing came to life! I used my pencil to create dark gradients on the sides of the bottle, leaving the center lighter to mimic the way light reflects off plastic and liquid.
The Final Touches was to signed my work "dannyben39" and cleaned up the edges to make the contrast pop.
I really enjoyed this challenge and hope you like my final result!
It’s amazing what you can do with just a pencil and some patience.
I would love to invite some of my friends to join in the fun and show off their drawing skills:
