أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Assalamu-Alaikum-wa-Rahmatullahi- wa-Barakatuh!

I did not write anything on the blog yesterday; however, I spent the day cleaning up the Bilkisu Qur'anic Centre blog so it will make sense to any new visitor(s).

Here comes what I did, simply stated.

I asked one simple question:

Before doing anything, I asked myself; What does someone need to see if they are visiting the blog for the first time? Asking that one question helped me eliminate the confusion there was with some of my posts.

     What changes did I make:
  • I sorted out the posts: I put the simple, practical posts such as Tafsir (Qur'an translation)), Qur'an Reflection , and Questions and Answers at the top, and then moved the more weighty posts to the “Archive” section. They are still on the blog, just not the way they are currently published.

  • I shortened the introductions: Several of my posts started out with long, formal sentences–I cut them. Instead of starting each post What Is This About …? and Why Is This Important?, I started each post with this is what the post is about and why you need to read it.

  • I provided a clear path through each post: now every post has a clear path for the reader to follow:

  1. What is the issue/feeling being dealt with?

  2. What does the Qur'an say about that issue/feeling?

  3. What can you do today about that issue/feeling?

No more jumping between posts. Go right to the point.

      Why it is important:

When things are organized properly, visitors will not waste any of their time – I hate wasting time.

The Importance of Clear Systems

People don't stay at places that are messy.

They stay at places that are clear, and they get more value from them.

Since cleaning up, I've given the blog a more functional design, and I feel like I have clearer professional directions.

Cleaning up the blog has also helped me reduce my mental stress about what I should be posting next, because I can now see the roadmap to follow.

What I Truly Learn in the Process

What I Learned from this Process

To create good content you have to start with a good structure.

A proper structure comes first; once you build the proper structure—then the writing comes easily.

Just like the Qur'an has been made clear for us to understand; I want the blog to reflect that same level of clarity.

"We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to remember, so is there any who will remember?"

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ

Surah Al-Qamar 54:17

I will finish my Chapter Al-Fajr post today, and I'll publish it later.

I will review which blog posts people appreciated the most tomorrow.

Just keep things simple and have value added to them; there are no grand goals.

Sometimes what goes on behind-the-scenes is more important than what happens in front of the audiences.

Alhamdulilahi! (Just Be yourself)
