The Diary Game: A Good Day (10-01-2026)

This morning started early because I was heading out. I was going to church, and I knew I would be playing bass later, so I left the house while everywhere was still calm. I entered a keke and sat at the back. The seat in front of me was torn and rough. The keke started moving, shaking a little, and I watched the road through the open side. People were already outside, some walking fast, others just standing. The wind touched my face as we moved, and I stayed quiet, thinking about the day and the songs we would play in church.

After church, I was really exhausted, so I stopped at a small roadside shop to get something to eat. The shop was not big, but people were there. Some were sitting outside, some were standing and talking while waiting. I bought something simple and stayed there for a while to eat. People were laughing and talking about normal things. Nobody was in a hurry. It felt relaxed, like one of those moments where you just slow down and enjoy being outside.

When I got back home, I saw my landlady outside. She was sitting and playing with one of the tenants’ children. The baby was crawling around and smiling like nothing in the world could worry them. My landlady was laughing and watching the child closely. It was a nice thing to see. The compound felt peaceful at that moment. I stood there for a bit, just looking, before going inside. Moments like that make home feel warm.

Later in the day, I passed by a playground nearby. Children were running everywhere, shouting and laughing loudly. Some were playing games, some were just chasing each other. A few fell down and stood up again like nothing happened. The playground was dusty and not perfect, but nobody cared. They were happy, and that was enough. I watched them for a short while before leaving.

By evening, the day felt complete. I had gone out, played bass at church, eaten, and seen people living their normal lives. Nothing big happened, but it was a good day.
