Greetings friends and welcome to my blog. It’s another beautiful time to talk about milkshakes that beat the heat. Join me as we explore banana milk shake.

What varieties of bananas are available in your area, and what dishes are prepared using them?

In my area, there are some bananas that are available and they are:

  • Cavendish Banana: This is the regular and the common sweet banana that are result available and they are sold in the markets and the supermarkets.

  • Baby Bananas also known as Omini banana. These are the short types of bananas and are smaller than the cavendish bananas. They are also sweeter than the cavendish banana.

  • Plantain: this is also called cooking banana as they are cooked and are usually available in greenish colour and also have the ripe ones that are yellow.

These are the Dishes Prepared with Bananas in my region.

  1. Fresh Banana Snack: We eat the banana raw as fresh snack or food.
  2. Banana Smoothie/Milkshake; Banana is blended with yoghurt, other fruits, honey or nuts to make a smoothie or milk shake.
  3. Banana Pancakes: bananas are mashed and mixed together into batter for making pancakes and this gives the pancakes a sweeter taste.
  4. Banana Bread: unlike the regular bread, bananas are mixed into bread doughs to make soft, sweet breads that are very flavorful.
  5. Plantains are used to make cooked dishes such as fried plantain, plantain porridge, roasted plantains (boli) and plantain chips.

These are the varieties of banana dishes we consume in my area and they are very nutritious and affordable.

The process for making the banana milkshake was very simple and smooth. These are the ingredients I used.

  • Banana
  • Milk
  • Cashew nuts
  • dates for toppings

Procedure

I washed my bananas and removed the peels. I went ahead to cut the bananas into smaller a pieces.

I added the cashew nuts into the blended and grinded them.

I then proceeded to add the banana to the blended cashew nuts and also blended them as well.

I then added milk to the blended mixture and blended them further until it was smooth.

I cut my dates into smaller pieces to use as toppings. Banana is already a sweet fruit so I didn’t need to add extra sugar so as to reduce sugar intake.

I went ahead and pored out the banana milk shake into the cup and added my toppings for garnishing.

The banana mill shake was looking beautiful and it was very tasty too.
