MY BITCOIN EXPERIENCE: I wished I had invested in bitcoin on time.

Good day to all hindwhale steemians in this community!
A warm welcome to all the people that will be taking part in this contest.

At one point in time or the other in our lives, we may have lost opportunities that the impact would have transformed our lives. Now looking back to such opportunities, we tend to live in regrets when we remember them. Here now, The topic of this contest brings to bare the following questions to ask as below:

• Is there moments in our lives that we live in regrets of not taking advantage of opportunities that we may have come across in our lives?

• Looking back, Who Could we have become or where could we have gotten in life if we took advantage of those opportunities?

• What could we have wished we would have done better then?

Time, time, time, hmmmm......, is a very important factor for humans in measuring not just how long a person have existed, but also how long it will take or how long it took, to achieve some set goals. But this time factor of a thing doesn't just stop here, just as the topic of the contest suggests.

These 3 questions posed above, have reminded me of the opportunity that I lost when BITCOIN was newly launched in the market.

Bitcoin came into the market 2009 at the price of $0.10. Since then, the price has skyrocketed to as high as $69,963.01 as at the time of presenting this post.

In 2011, I came across a friend who presented to me the opportunity to invest in a cryptocurrency called BITCOIN. The price of the coin then was $1. But at that time, not everyone including me, had become conversant or knowledgeable on how crypto currencies work, and how to invest in this digital asset that is now changing the world's fiance order. At the price of $1 per coin, the price was still affordable and I could afford investing in that crypto project. The friend persuaded me to the extent that he was willing to invest in the project on my behalf for me to pay him later. Being totally griped in fear, a lot of questions were going through my mind. How do I invest in a project that I know nothing about? What if I invest and my money gets lost? Indeed, It was a challenging decision for me to make. At a point, he became angry with me as I wasn't willing to buy into the opportunity he presented to me. But With all the persuasion and rejection, we never allowed it to separate us.

In 2013, Bitcoin started trading at $13 and by April of the same year, it crossed $100 and moving up to trade at $200 in October. Within this period, Bitcoin had gained more adoption as it started to circulate across many regions in the world. Towards the ending of the year, bitcooin made historic gains surpassing $200 to trade at $720 at the end of the year. At this price, I was still skeptical about the genuineness of this crypto.

Between 2016 to 2020, the price for bitcooin started hovering at about $1,000 to $2,000 to finally settle at $19,188 in December that year. At this time the coin had gained a more wider circulation such that it started to gain the attention of various institutions, Governments as well as scientists. Discussions about this digital currency, its adoption and price performance were been discussed in many quarters and regions of the world. More scientists started coming up to develope other crypto projects to rival bitcoin. Guess what? I began thinking in the direction and persuasion of My friend. By December 2020, bitcooin traded at $28,993.

NOW THE CLEAR PICTURE DAWNED ON ME

In 2021 bitcoin took another level in price increasing more than the previous price from $28,993 to a high of $40,000, pushing through to hit all time high of $60,000. By this time my friend had made huge amount of money and traveled overseas.

I lost contact with him as we could no longer reach out to each other to communicate. It now dawned on me that I have indeed, lost a golden opportunity.

Here now the questions I generated from the topic of this contest will be answered as follows:

• Is there moments in our lives that we live in regrets of not taking advantage of opportunities that we may have come across in our lives?

Yes! For me, I regret not taking advantage of investing in bitcoin as presented to me by my friend.

• Looking back, Who Could we have become or where could we have gotten in life if we took advantage of those opportunities?

By now I know I my financial status would have changed. I would gotten to a certain level where I would been financially ok.

• What could we have wished we would have done better then?

At least I would have done a due diligence and given my friend a benefit of doubt by investing a little amount or even allow him to invest with his money to pay him back later. I wish such opportunity comes back again.

CONCLUSION

Opportunity passes with time. Learning and willing to take advantage of them, can change our lives for good. It is better to try out an opportunity by investing with what we can afford to lose and be prepared to finally accept the outcome. Fear is one of the most dangerous factors that should be dislodged especially when making decisions to invest. Although there may be some element of fear while making investment decisions, we should seek to invest after our due diligence must have been made.

Yet still, I wish such opportunity comes back again.
