The Diary Game: Juggling School Life And Mummy Duties

It’s been quite a long and exhausting day at my end. This period has been very busy for me because it’s exam month, and honestly, I haven’t really had much time to myself. Between reading, preparing for exams, and taking care of my little one, my days have been packed from morning till night. But despite the stress, I’m grateful to still be pushing through. I hope everyone at your end is doing well and having a smoother week than mine.
Let me share a little story about how my day went today.
My day started on a very sleepy note. I woke up feeling extremely tired because I barely slept last night.

I stayed up late studying so I could properly prepare for my exams, and by the time I finally laid down, it felt like morning came almost immediately. My eyes were still heavy with sleep, but as we all know, mummy duties don’t wait for anyone. Once it’s time to get things done, you just have to get up and move.
The first thing on my to-do list was preparing lunch for my son before getting ready for school myself. Since I didn’t have much time and I was already feeling tired, I decided to make something quick and simple. I prepared spaghetti with sauce, and thankfully it didn’t take much time to cook. Before I knew it, the food was ready.

By that time my son had woken up, full of energy as usual. Luckily for me, my mum stepped in to help by bathing him while I quickly prepared breakfast. I’m always grateful for those little moments of support because they make my mornings much easier.
After he finished bathing, he ate his breakfast and got dressed for school. I packed his lunch neatly, made sure everything he needed was in his bag, and then we were ready to leave the house. I dropped him off at school and hurried back home because I also needed to get myself ready.
Once I got home, I freshened up and finally had a moment to sit down and eat my own breakfast.

After eating, I quickly gathered my things and headed to school. I arrived at the school compound by about 8:37 a.m. The environment was still relatively calm because not many students had arrived yet.

Since our exam was scheduled for 9 a.m., I still had a little time to relax, arrange my materials, and mentally prepare myself before the invigilators came in. Those few quiet moments before an exam always feel a bit intense because everyone is trying to recall what they studied the night before.
Eventually, the invigilators arrived and the examination started around 9:30 a.m. Like every exam situation, the atmosphere was serious and silent as everyone focused on their papers. I did my best to answer the questions carefully and stay calm throughout.

After exams

After the exam ended, I didn’t rush home immediately. I stayed back with some of my friends and classmates. We discussed the exam, compared answers, and talked about how it went for each of us.
Aside from the exam discussion, we also talked about many other random things, laughed a little, and just enjoyed each other’s company before everyone eventually went their separate ways.
When I finally got home, the tiredness from the sleepless night and the exam stress caught up with me. I freshened up, picked up my phone to scroll through a few things, and before I even realized it… I had already fallen asleep. That nap was honestly much needed.

Later in the evening, I woke up and joined my family for dinner. It felt nice to just sit together, eat, and relax after such a long and busy day.
Overall, it has truly been a long and demanding week for me. Between studying, exams, motherhood, and daily responsibilities, I’ve been running on very little rest. So I’ve already decided that this weekend will be dedicated to sleeping, resting, and recharging my energy so I can continue strong next week.
