The Nature Diary Game || 17-6-26 || Time with Nature at Unity Park, Uyo.

So I decided to visit a nature park yesterday to document my nature diary, and I actually spent quality time there, as nature has its own way of relieving one of unnecessary thoughts, worries, and depression. My nature diary was documented using the following details....

So I did wake up yesterday, did my chores, and stayed at home doing all sorts of things alone just to whirl away time. Still, I felt I was bored even after doing my routine, having my breakfast, and watching a movie. Staying at home wasn't helping me because I felt so bored. So I decided to make nature a friend to prevent myself from being in a depressed state.

Place nature was observed

So I decided to visit a nature park in my city that's usually used for Christmas celebrations during the December period. This park is called **Unity Park and has the second largest field in Uyo. It's full of beautiful green trees and grasses that don't wither. I used the first entrance in getting here, and what really caught my attention was the cloud's formation in the sky. That told me a lot about the weather at the time.

Weather

The weather was just so calm, and I felt water evaporating to the atmosphere. The grass was giving out its water. The sky formed dark clouds in some parts, and then other areas were bright and clear. It was as if it were going to rain. Everywhere became dim at some point, making it difficult to get bright pictures. You can tell this from the pictures I just shared below.

But at the same time, the calm, windy weather was the perfect type of weather for observing nature at that time. I just imagined myself on a mat on the field, looking at the sky and trying to admire the drawings on the clouds. I imagined a lot of things because the windy weather made my observation beautiful and warm.

Normally on a sunny and bright day, you barely see the clouds in their form. You barely see it reflect its blue and white colors. The weather was the type of weather I needed even though I expected a sunny atmosphere to make pictures beautiful.

After observing the weather from the cloud's formation, I got attracted or drawn to the green trees and flowers in this place. The beautiful palm trees were arranged on a straight line like a path. I just fell in love already.

Plants and flowers

Let me talk about the flowers before talking about the plants and trees. I entered a garden and saw some beautiful flowers with good scents, and the weather just made the scent too obvious. So I used my Google Lens to do my observation after capturing a flower because it was just so eye-catching.

White Ixora	This is the first flower I captured, and it's called White Ixora. It looks like a star with clustered strands in one. And I discovered that its leaves are medicinal and can cure fever and headache.
	This is the gemination stage of the Ixora plant.
Heliconia	This looks just like the beak of a bird, those birds with long beaks. It's also called "golden torch" and is usually used to beautify the environment of one's surroundings. Its plants have leaves that look like an umbrella.
Red Ixora	This is the second breed of the Ixora, but this one is red and is sugary. I can remember sucking from the nectar when I was much younger. Nature is broad and beautiful in these flowers. And the next picture is the strand from this flower
Bishop wood tree	This one just looks like a Christmas tree because of how green and beautiful it is.
Holding a leaf with my hand	This is a green leaf, which I held with my hand. The leaf was still wet, and I took advantage of it, as it looks evergreen in the picture.
Saman Tree	This is a calm and silent tree. It looks very attractive from far away, and it looks as if the branches and stems have curls in them. It tells about history, which I won't want to go deep into.
African palm	This looks like the local palm tree, but the difference is that this one is urban and beautiful and is usually planted by the roadside or in parks to beautify the environment.

Birds and animals

It was rare to see an animal in this park. The only mammals present were the birds, big and small, moving and perching on tall trees and skydiving because the air was just so free for them without threats. But at the same time, it was difficult to capture them on camera because they wouldn't see you as you approached them without taking off.

I tried various means to snap them without their notice, but it didn't work out as planned. I had to capture them while they were flying. The bird I saw was the black raven with its pointed beak, and it was just making noise in the trees.

This is the small moth insect I captured with my phone. It's very soft and easy to kill but fast in the fields when flying. It's still trying to mature to become a full-grown butterfly. Its white color just matches the green color.

After that, I observed the landscapes of this beautiful place. It doesn't have a lot of plain landscapes.

Landscapes

The place doesn't have a river but actually has a small body of water that has dried up because the channels have been made elsewhere. So what comprises their landscape is their small forest for festive seasons, their small garden, and other slopes. This is the biggest tree in this park, and it happens to have an interior because the leaves extend down to the ground, leaving a small opening. If you look closely, there's an entrance inside the tree where masqueraders wear their clothes. That's why I said this was their small forest.

This picture is the landscape view of their small garden with the yellow flowers. The fields are also green, as though they have been taken care of since day 1. It's just low, green, and beautiful.

Talking about seasonal changes, we're in rainy season, and most trees tend to bloom. If you notice the sky, most times dark clouds would form, and it would rain heavily, enriching the soil and preventing dry leaves, as you can see in the pictures shown below.

This is the season where you get to see coconut in its prime.

Personal feelings

I had the best of green experiences with nature. The pleasant weather was everything I needed to clear my mind from various things. The way the trees and flowers are built made me appreciate the creator of all these things. If you're ever depressed, just make nature your friend, and you'll be a different person entirely, as I was.
