Greetings Friends, how are you all? Hope all well 😇. Welcome to my today’s post. Hoping that you enjoy reading ☺️.

At this point, it’s the 3rd day of Garba and today I had plans to go to my College Garba night. The college was hosting Garba for 2 nights, and my friend/batchmate now colleague managed to get passes for a few of us alumni and other colleagues as well. 3 of my batchmates had come from various cities to Ahmedabad. One had come from Delhi, the other from Pune. We all had a little reunion kind of a thing.

Enjoying the Garba night

Today I went to the gym late; like it was almost noon 😅. Although I was late, I continued to workout till around 1:00 pm. When I returned home I was too hungry anyways so along with my lunch tiffin I made some bataka poha (flattened rice). By the time I was done having food I slept off 🥱. I Directly woke up at 5:30 pm, didn’t even realise where the day went off 😄. Guess I was catching up on my sleep. These days it’s like I can’t even make out where the days are passing… lol it’s the Garba effect 😆.

Bataka Poha

I called my friend to ask him what time are we all planning to reach the ground. He said around 9:00 or 9:30 pm. Hence I had to adjust my time accordingly so that I could reach on time. Along with us our colleagues at work were also gonna accompany us to play Garba. So my friend was the one who was coordinating with everyone (he had to go to the entry gate each time someone arrived to handover the passes😆). The traffic during these days and especially in the late evening time is horrible. A place that would take 15 minutes for us to reach normally takes at least 45 minutes now. So it was literally a task gathering everyone on time to the ground 😄.

Xavier’s Garba

As we reached there, we met our H.O.D of our college time. While he was meeting us, he mentioned that he remembers us all by our faces but not by names 😆. We were reminiscing our time in college also he asked us about where all we are placed currently. He shared few experiences about his stay in Pune as I mentioned earlier one of my batchmates was here from Pune. So our college is run by Jesuit priests, and as part of their education and priesthood, they travel to many places, giving them a rich experience about our country and several other places. Some of our office colleagues waited as we were having a chat with Fr. H.O.D. After we were done meeting him, we all rushed towards the ground to dance 💃. As we were all a huge group, we started dancing in a circle. Some of my friends do not know how to do the Garba steps so they watched while we danced.

Vibrant Colours

As the night went by, we enjoyed ourselves, and all of us were drenched in sweat 💦. All of us were exhausted yet energetic to dance 😁. One would do a step and the rest would follow. This continued for a while, we also joined other groups who were doing some easy steps. They also played the famous song “Pari hu mai” and towards the end they played the song “Sanedo”- (The Gujarati Folk word “Sanedo” is a Fond word, a Nickname of the accepted, classical Word “Sneh” (means “Love” , “Affection”)). We have various types of Garba steps as well which we all tried 😇. We took lots of pictures and shared some laughter and fun. All of us met each other after around 2 years, so we had great fun.

Tired but full enthu 😃

Later the group then decided to go and have something to eat. We decided we would go to a famous place here in Ahmedabad, which is know for some mouth watering street food. We ordered various kinds of dishes including an ice cream sandwich 😄 (I know weird combination right?). We also enjoyed some delicious pav bhaji and tasty dosa. Everyone enjoyed the food and had some gala time. After we were done, one of our friends suggested we should all go and have Jamun Shots. (Jamun is a blackish purple coloured tropical fruit abundantly available in India during summer). I personally did not enjoy the taste so I gave my drink to my friend 🤣. We all finished our drinks and proceeded towards our vehicles. You would think we all drove home right? Well not yet, coz from there we then decided to go to the River Front. Here in Ahmedabad we have just one water body, Sabarmati river. So this is a place where people often visit maybe just to sit near the river bank or else do some cycling 🚴. We sat there for a while and shared our pictures with each other.

After that, we were all really exhausted at this point so we finally decided to leave for home. So friends this was my today’s diary. Don’t forget to share your thoughts and feedback. Bye for now, see you all soon ☺️.
