The Diary Game || SATURDAY FOR CHURCH ACTIVITIES AND DOMESTIC DUTIES || 7/2/2026

So it was a serious and busy Saturday, loaded with activities from 7 am until I lay my head to rest. Let me give the details in three phases of the day, morning, afternoon, and evening. But before then, here are the highlights of the day.

-Uyo Presbytery Fasting and Prayer
-Laundry at Home.
-Filling of Zobo
-Watching the Premier League
-Revival programme in the church, and the rest.

Before I slept on Friday night, I got a text from the Uyo Presbytery Clerk on my WhatsApp, notifying me as the conductor of the 2026 Uyo Presbytery's solemn assembly. That made me embrace my bed and pillows earlier to enable me to wake up early. The fasting and prayer were slated for 7 am and considering the distance of the venue (The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Mbiabong Parish) off Oron Road, Uyo, I had to leave the house at 6:05 am. I didn't join the family morning prayer as I needed to prepare faster with the time at hand.

It was disappointing that in spite of my efforts, I was still late for the programme by 14 minutes. The mini bus I entered was a big problem, not only a branching fuel station but also slow. Although the event did not start before I arrived, I was not with myself.

We have to wait for minutes again to help the technician set up the sound and musical instruments. When it was almost 8 am, the Moderator of Uyo Presbytery told me to commence and not wait for the sound guys. I stepped forward and conducted the fasting and prayer to the glory of God.

Prayers were offered to God on behalf of church members, the federal government, state leaders youths, the economy of the country, schools, Christian genocide, and general terrorism facing the states of Nigeria. The year was also handed over to God for blessings and restoration and peace. Individuals were given prayer points to lead the congregants to pray.

Exhortation was given to strengthen our faith in Christ that this year will be better. The fasting and prayer came to a close at 10:35 am with the host Parish giving refreshment to those who attended.

Laundry

My wife is very heavy and needs help at all times. When she told me she wants to wash clothes I told her to wash those she can, and leave the rest for me. After eating and resting I had to wash a few clothes, clean the house, and sundry our big mattress (foam).

We sell Zobo in church every Sunday after service, then we had to process it earlier and left them in the freezer.

My does it, but i must give maximum assistance except i am not at home. I enjoyed doing all of this but I was tired much later, and I fell asleep on the bare floor (tiled). My wife woke me up at 4 pm to prepare for the Covenant Renewal program (Day 2). I was completely soaked in sweat as the weather was hot.

I love football and it was interesting to see my club Manchester United making it 4 wins on a row to remain in the fourth position. The next match was Arsenal and I didn't allow the Arsenal versus Sunderland match to distract me from going to church, yes! “God First”. I only watch for a few minutes while waiting for my wife and my son to be ready for church. It was after the service that I heard the scoreline in favor of the Gunners to retain their title race hope.

Everyone left the house for us at 4:35 pm, while the program started at exactly 5 pm. It was a powerful evening with our guest, who ministered strongly still on the theme of the General Assembly for 2026 “Grace Upon Grace”. It was spirit-filled, people gave testimonies, situations that waited for supernatural shifts were shifted through the power of God.

After the program, everyone had left, I found a keyholder on the floor, I picked and snapped dropping the photo to the church WhatsApp platform for identification and directed that it be picked up from one of our members who lives very close to the church area.

We got home about 8:21 pm, and I had an online meeting at 9 pm which lasted until 10:10 pm. I was tired and only relaxed to listen to the news before I slept.

It was interesting to see the headline on Channel News that the Russian-Ukraine War is set to come to an end around June, 2026. May it end and never come back, that is my prayer. Lives lost, homes destroyed, businesses collapsed, schools shut down, many becoming refugees and completely displaced from their place of comfort. I want this war to end even now.
