Keeping the Habanero farm clean and healthy

A happy Sunday to everyone on Steemit and goldyy is back with another video and something that I think you'll enjoy, that is if you're already a fan of chilli and pepper.

This one is called the Habanero pepper and in Ghana it's pretty easy to confuse this with what we famously call the Kpakpo Shito which is almost the exact same colour but what I use to tell the difference is that Habanero is a bit bigger than the Kpakpo Shito.

You could tell that it's a bountiful crop of pepper and it's really fresh looking. Just incase you're growing your own peppers, you'll need to do a couple of things that'll ensure that the pepper plants grow healthy till harvest time so they can look like these ones.

To have a bountiful crop of green habaneros, you'll need to have some special daily management practice. If you've watched the video, I made mention of a couple of things happening at the farm. Two things really stand out about the care of the plants. The first being how there are no weeds in the plants’ base. This one is very important and just imcastyiu could not guess why, let me tell you.

Weeds and grass take space and water and in the end, stunts the green peppers’ growth because obviously it'll compete with it for the resources and will eventually have little to grow with. So just by having clean soil, the plants are able to grow with the resources they need. So you'll need to be clearing the space around them regularly to make sure of this.

The second thing I hope you noticed was the thick layer of leaves on the plants. Habanero plants need a decent amount of covering to block the fruit from the burning sun. It's even the young green peppers that are mostly susceptible to sunburn and the leaves will give good shade so the crop is not ruined before harvesting time.

If you practice these two things well and everything goes smoothly with that weather, no storms or pests, you're bound to get a good harvest.
