Coconut Rice Cravings Satisfied(08:02:2026)

Hello Pookies, Happy Sunday. It's a beautiful day over here and an exciting day for me because I got to eat a meal I have been craving for over the week and I'm here to take you on the process of making it. I am Happiness Effiong with @inemghurrl as my steemit username. You all know it's Sunday and in a typical African home, the day doesn't go by without attending church service so this morning when I woke up, I prepared for church and upon my return, I went into the kitchen and scooped out six cups of raw rice which I used in preparing coconut rice.

I washed the rice before parboiling it and while the pot of rice was on fire, I broke three big coconut and grated it so I will extract the milk and use it for cooking. I'm not a fan of using flavours and the fear of my mom wouldn't even let me do it because if she notices it, damn, I'm gone for good. So, I went through the all pains of grating the coconut manually end while I was still done that, the rice was tender so I called my brother to help me drain out the water and rinse the rice.

I finished grating the coconut and poured in the warm water I had boiled for this purpose. My people believes that adding hot or warm water will make the coconut milk to be extracted in all it's glory. I sieved the coconut milk into a big pot, poured in the parboiled rice and added my ingredients, gave it a stir before I placed it on the gas to cook. While it was cooking, I went into the bathroom to have my bath because I was sweating profusely and needed to wash off the sweat. It was a quick bath, I was out within ten minutes.

When I was out from the bathroom, I went into the kitchen to check the food. It was well cooked and tender, it only remained for the water to dry and I knew that will be done within some minutes. My mom returned from her women's meeting and asked me to bring her food despite passing through the kitchen and seeing that the food was still on fire. I asked her to first undress end shower before she will be served and fortunately, the meal was ready before she was done bathing. I dished and served everyone and kept dad's own too though I didn't know when he will be back. Mom added a bottle of nutri milk each to our meal and that boosted my appetite, I was smiling like someone who won an all expense trip to Maldives after having my meal. Thanks Pookies, byyyyeeee.
