A Day of Duties, Delays, and the Beginning of Ramadan. Diary game. 18-02-2026

Today I had to go to the office where I have been posted on special duty and deputed for the last six months. As we have now completed our target, we are waiting for the relieving order that will allow us to join our parent department from where we were deputed. For this reason, I went there to inquire about when the relieving order would be issued.

I had to wake up very early to start my day on time and finish my tasks, as I also needed to visit Srinagar later in the day. Early in the morning, I offered my prayers, which gave me peace and a strong sense of positivity. After breakfast with my parents, who were waiting to have the meal together, I quickly got ready and drove through a shortcut route, reaching the office within 20–30 minutes.

On reaching there, I met colleagues I have worked with over the last six months. We spent some time together and had tea at a small dhaba located just outside the office. Then I went inside to inquire about our relieving order, but unfortunately, the DDO was not present and had been busy with personal work. He is expected to remain absent for two more days, so the relieving order will not be issued until then. Still, I spent some meaningful time with the officials there. Over these six months, we have formed a new fraternity, and I truly value the respect and bond we share.

After that, I left for Srinagar. A few weeks ago, I had left my laptop at a service station near Lal Chowk, and I finally got time to check whether it had been repaired. When I reached there, the shop was closed, probably because they had gone out for lunch. I waited for nearly an hour. Meanwhile, I went to a cooperative store to buy the items my mother had asked for—detergent, soaps, toothpaste, and other essentials. I spent some time selecting the items and checking for discounts.

Later, my friend accompanied me to the service shop. He helped me carry the items to my car, which was parked more than half a kilometre away. We also had lunch together since we had not eaten anything earlier. It was a pleasant walk and a good time spent in conversation. However, when I inquired about my laptop, I was told that it was still not fixed and would take two more days. I felt disappointed but had no option except to leave.

I hurried back home as Ramadan Kareem was to begin in the evening. I wanted to reach before Maghrib to offer prayers at the mosque and begin the blessed month with gratitude and prostration before Allah. Later, after dinner, we offered the special Isha and Tarawih prayers. Only after returning home did I finally go to sleep.
